Decided to try Nina Nails after googling salons close to where I work, the reviews were so great and the salon is less than 5 minutes away so I decided to give them a try. I called Thursday at lunchtime hoping to get an appointment that afternoon. I was told they were fully booked and they advised me against a walk in even though they accept them, because they knew I would have to wait. I was disappointed but decided to make an appointment for this afternoon instead. We arrived and I thought the parking lot looked empty so why did I have to schedule an appointment. Walked in and the place is clean and tidy, and there weren't 6 people sitting waiting. I went with a friend and we arrived 15 minutes early, they took her back right away as she was just getting a mani and I needed a full set. I actually didn't go back until 445 for a 430 appointment by which point I was getting annoyed, HOWEVER, it was well worth the wait. I had Alex, and he gave me the best set of coffin acrylics I've ever had! He was gentle and meticulous, he really cared about what he was doing. My nails look fantastic and I made my 2 week appointment as I was leaving. I will never go to another salon! I'm fine with having to sit and wait if my manicure is flawless! I also now understand why they told me to come on Friday rather than walk in on Thursday, they take their time and care about the service they provide, unlike some salons that take in as many appointments and walk ins as show up, then do poor quality work as they are rushed. My friend loved her manicure, and also made a 2 week appointment, as well as an appointment for her wedding nails in October! We are both very happy customers and I wish I could...
Read moreI booked an appointment for an acrylic removal here, and chose this place instead of my regular salon. They pried the acrylics off of my nail with another acrylic nail, something that I thought was odd. It was painful, and I told my tech a couple times that it hurt and nothing was changed. My natural nails are extremely weak, paper thin, and layers were peeled off as a result. I’ve gotten acrylics consistently for the past few months, and I’ve never had this much damage after a removal. Other techs are more careful and patient, soaking the nail in acetone and then buffing the acrylics off, not peeling them off. I would not recommend this salon at all for acrylic removal, and I’m very upset at the state of my natural nails. This will take weeks of repair, and I’m disappointed at the carelessness. My boyfriend paid for it, and at the time I didn’t think to ask for a discount or refund as to not cause a scene, but I am really wishing I did so.
Update: I called them and explained to see if I could get a refund. They denied responsibility, which is unfortunate. I don’t normally do this at all, but the state of my nails is so bad that I may consider taking legal action. Their customer service is just as bad as the nail service, I would not recommend at all! I read the reviews prior to going and was still disappointed. I was respectful and polite, however, I was met with condescension and...
Read moreI sure hate Chrissy and Alex left this shop. They were so professional and the place was always so clean, and you never had to wait for your technician. Those days are over! On June 2, my appt was with Lexy at 9:30, she didn't come in until 9:45. I picked my "chrome" color, but she put the wrong color on. Even though it was " her error", I tipped her. But because I had other appts for that day, I couldn't wait for it to be corrected. Therefore I made an appt for June 7, for a color correction. I TIPPED HER AGAIN! The shop is closed on Sunday and Lexy is off on Mondays and Tuesdays. By that following Friday, the 9th, my nails had started to chip.. I have worn "chrome" for 2 years, and never had a problem. As a matter of fact, my nails will last a month, which keeps me from going to the shop as often. I called to have a touch up, but because of Lexy's schedule, I had to wait until today, and they had chipped even more. Seven of my nails had chipped but she was only going to correct 6. I have NEVER had this problem with Alex, the previous owner before. Alex took pride in his work and I never had to go back for corrections. The ladies, especially Lexy, were so NASTY!!! I was going to tip her again, but my mom DIDN'T RAISE A FOOL!!! I would think twice about going there. I have also noticed the shop is getting empty of customers, and with this "shotty work", I can see why. GOOD BYE...
