Pizza Ranch FunZone Arcade — Local services in Iowa City

Wow! Where to start? I regularly avoid Pizza Ranch an because of consistent horrible experiences. With the last experience almost 5 years ago, the kids wanted to go, so I thought I would give it a chance. Yup, nothing has changed.

First - There was a 24% price market up compared to the website. When this was addressed, the employee pointed to the current prices.

Second - The pizza had clearly been sitting out for a while. Imagine a home cooked frozen pizza sitting on the counter for about 2 hours. That is what was served. The ingredients portion was just enough for appearance and definitely not for flavor.

Third - The salad bar was a disaster. I've managed restaurants with buffets and understand that other food falls into another. This looked like someone hovered their plate over each items, loaded a spoon full of items onto a plate and continued on. If you wanted pears, you better be ready to have the entire salad bar with each bite.

Fourth - I don't know what is wrong with your fountain machine but that needs a good cleaning. I've never had such a rancid beverage.

Maybe it's just me but it seems like they changed the pizza here a while back. I think it's a lot better than it used to be. Great fried chicken and sides. Desert pizza with ice cream is great too. The kids love the game room. There aren't a lot of games to choose from but the kids don't seem to mind and buying stuff with the tickets they have won is a big hit....
