Apologies if I’m a bit chatty today! Staying overnight at a local Hampton. Wife said let’s do Taco Bell. I said nah, let’s do better. Found this wonderful place! Placed an online order through Toast and drove 2 minutes to do a curbside pickup. When I called the pickup number, they apologized because their internet had been down. Rather than sit in the car I went inside. Nicely laid out place with booths and tables. Clean and busy with a mix of what appeared to be college kids and families. Walked up to the counter and they were friendly and super apologetic about the situation. A nice guy who seemed to be a leader took my ticket and rushed to the back to expedite things. A few minutes later I was on my way back to the hotel and the car smelled WONDERFUL! Got back to the room, unpacked the bag and found out they mistakenly gave us salsa instead of queso to go with the chips. In a way, this was a WIN! The salsa was FANTASTIC! I had to force myself to stop. Chicken fajita tacos, grilled shrimp tacos, and carnitas tacos were all DELICIOUS. I was especially happy with the carnitas. Crispy, juicy, packed with flavor. We’ll be back to Iowa City and will make a point of stopping back here to relax and sample more of their menu.

I recently visited La Regia Taqueria with a group of four adults, one small child, and a baby. To my surprise, upon receiving the check, I discovered that a 20% gratuity had been automatically added to my bill due to the size of our group. This policy was enforced without any prior explanation or disclosure. What makes this situation even more unacceptable is that the small child barely consumed anything, and the baby was being breastfed throughout the meal. It is incredibly disappointing that the restaurant failed to consider these circumstances when enforcing their rigid gratuity policy. The lack of transparency regarding the gratuity policy and the failure to communicate it prior to ordering is a clear indication of poor customer service. As a customer, I expect to be informed of any additional charges before making my dining choices. Overall, my experience at La Regia Taqueria was marred by this deceptive practice, and I left feeling taken advantage of. I strongly advise potential diners to be cautious of this establishment's questionable policies and lack of consideration for individual circumstances.

If you’re looking for some seriously delicious tacos in a casual, no-fuss spot, La Regia Taqueria is a must-try! My fiancé and I sampled nearly every type of taco on the menu, and the specialty fajita tacos were a standout—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The lengua taco was another highlight, tender and full of authentic goodness. We visited on a weekday night and found plenty of space to sit, making it a great option whether you’re dining solo, with a small group, or bringing a big crew. The service was friendly and laid-back, adding to the overall chill vibe. Another cool perk? The attached grocery store, which is perfect if you want to grab some authentic ingredients to take home. Their strawberry margarita was decent and paired well with the meal. Pricing is reasonable, making this a fantastic spot for a high-quality yet quick-ish bite—definitely not as fast as fast food, but way more relaxed than a full sit-down restaurant. Would absolutely recommend stopping by if you’re craving solid, flavorful tacos in a casual setting! 🌮🔥 We will be back!

Delicious!! Just what I was craving! Satisfied my hunger for REAL tacos like I could get in south Georgia. Im really picky about my Mexican food, I cant sense BS americanized garbage from a mile away! Great selection of sauces! Not sure if they make their own tortillas or aguas fresca but if they don't the tortillas I'd love to know brand of tortillas and Jamaica mix they used cuz they had me fooled! I know for sure it wasn't klass Jamaica mix cuz I'm there was no aspartame after taste! I was also very impressed with the meat selection not only do they serve lengua (beef tongue) but also cabrito (beef cheek). And no cilantro on my tacos per my request 😊 aka the only thing that will give away instantly that I myself am not of Mexican heritage. My 10 month old loved everything he ate as well (tried my meat, had a whole side of beans to himself, some rice, and got a couple drops of jaimaica.) Absolutely worth the trip from Burlington for me!! Yall better not let this place go under it is a total GEM!!! seriously though as a single mom this place was a godsend, a beaken of hope at just the time I needed it most if yall start to struggle, CALL ME (I cant see it happening but hey ive witnessed gringos take down more established places because they were too ignorant to understand what they had at their disposal or possibly weren't sophisticated enough in the palate to get it) I'll volunteer as tribute to buy you out and eat...

In incredibly inexpensive auphentic Mexican restaurant.

My friend from Chicago recommended me go to this place. Though it's location and store front left me a little skeptical, it quickly grew to be one of my favorite places to go.

I love going there and trying new things. First I tried all the different kinds of meat. Chicken? They got it. Beef? They got it. Slow roasted pork with signature spices? They got it. Now I know what your saying, 'that doesn't sound so new and adventurous.'

How about cow tongue? They got it. How about cow cheak? They got it. How about pork intestines? They got it. Their tacos are amazing and the sauces they serve with them are amazing as well.

One complaint I commonly find with commercial Mexican establishments, is a lack of spice. I have been called a masochist before by people who sample my food. I prefer to say I enjoy heat with my food. This place does not disappoint. Plus, at similar establishments, I usually get jalapeno poppers or what ever equivalent is offered. La Regia Taqueria offers 3 roasted jalapeno peppers as a side. It both tasted, and hurt, so good. And I got a buddy to eat one who... Doesn't handle spice well and got some free entertainment out of the visit as well.

Amazing food, good prices, nice staff. 5/5 have gone many times before, will be going many times again. Drunk, hung over, or sober. This place is great.

Will try to post...
