Brandywine Commons — Local services in Irvine

Incredibly disappointed with this dining hall. We came in before 8 and told the lanky mustached cashier dude that we were new here and weren't too familiar with how it worked. He enthusiastically told us that we could eat as much as we wanted and heavily encouraged us to eat there.

Well after entering, what do we discover: almost all food stations are closing. Dude didn't even have the decency to warn us that the $16 we were paying for this shit wouldn't even give us a full meal. And why close so much stuff that early?

Anyways, as for the actual food, it was satisfactory at best. The chicken fillets were super undercooked and still pinkish on the inside. Pizza was okay but nothing spectacular. Wraps' flavor was just too strong. I couldn't eat anything else they had cause they had so much pork in literally everything (spring rolls, pasta, etc.). Those stations closed soon anyway.

Overall, I would maybe consider lunch here just out of curiosity, but if you come here for dinner after 8 you're actually better off burning the money. Centerpointe at CPP is honestly way better even though Brandywine is...

This dining commons is my 2nd favorite (Lot 5 is a close 1st).

The variety of food is always delicious and made to perfection each time. The grill serves excellent, juicy, and tender chicken breasts. Additionally, the beef, grilled cheese, patty melts, fries, and every thing is always consistently fresh. They have two sides for drinks, VERY delicious soft serve ice cream (sometimes even green tea!!) and the salad bar is always green and tasty. I usually got chicken breasts and some salad last year. Get a hard boiled egg too; it's worth.

Dessert sections eh. Just the soft serve in my opinion. Sometimes...

It's sometimes good, but you need to know what to avoid. Certain vegetables are clearly frozen and very soggy. Avoid slabs of meat of any kind, they're bound to be dry.

Sushi bowls, when they rarely have it, are pretty great.

They've gotten rid of Late Night, sometimes shut down 40% of the stations, and their vegan options are usually subpar. Sometimes it really feels like you're being ripped off. They've even gone down from 2 soups (1 vegan and 1 meat) to just 1 meat soup. You can't even customize sandwiches...
