We recently attended a ballet production of The Nutcracker that was specifically a children's show. We loved it! The costumes were gorgeous, the dancers were so well-rehearsed, and the theatre is very comfortable and well-arranged. We were up in the second row in the balcony and were able to see everything so clearly. The sound volume was just right - not too loud like some places that blast your eardrums, and not so quiet that you missed anything going on. The ushers were friendly and helpful and got our group comfortably arranged and seated, bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, and easy to get to. Bathrooms are on the first level, and I didn't pay attention to see whether the balcony is wheelchair-friendly or if they have a lift upstairs; we definitely saw several people seated with wheelchairs downstairs on the main level, and the aisles are nice and wide and easy for power or manual chairs, and the venue isn't terribly steep, which is helpful for navigating if you have a heavy chair. Looking forward to more productions here in the future! If you come early, there are plenty of quick food options just across the bridge adjacent to the theatre, and they were well-staffed and very reasonable. This is a college campus, so I would not expect diamond restaurants, but their selections are diverse and I'm sure anyone could find something to fit their dietary preferences or needs. ...
Read moreNon ADA compliant. My grandmother waited in front for 20 minutes in the heat because the traffic controller wouldn't let me turn left onto the only access road in. Then he blatantly lied to me whilst telling me "I wouldn't lie to you" that there is another access road. Then when I got back to the area the fragile little man had to wave the police over because he didn't like the way I was talking to him. Magically after speaking with the police woman I was able to turn left. The parking lot wouldn't let me pay with cash or a card and handed me a card that directed me to a website where I have to enter a code that is a series of eight random letters. Just so we are clear, this is a college campus that can't figure out how to provide handicap access or a convenient way to pay for the parking, which seems excessive at $10. Seriously, you want me to go to a website and enter a code to pay for parking; at least slap a QR code on there. I'll make sure to avoid this place...
Read moreBeautiful theatre! Saw Sutton Foster last night and it was very classy. Everyone working their was so nice. Box seats are the best. Not that many box seats but priced the same as balcony. Small theatre, holds 750 people so very intimate for shows. You can drive right up to theatre entrance to drop people off then park ajacent in student parking for $10. Five minute walk from parking. When event is over they provide a driver on a golf cart who will take you to your car if you like. There was no Valet parking. Its right on the campus of UCI in beautiful campus surroundings and venue staffed by students that are very helpful. Use Google Maps to navigate because Barclay burried deep in the campus and not easy to find. If you are from Los Angeles area stop on the way at Knotts Chicken House for dinner, it is on the way and only 30 minutes away. From Los Angeles plan on...
