I don’t think I could have asked for a better team of real estate agents than Valerie and Allen; they truly are amazing. The amount of help they provided with the sale was unexpected and gratefully appreciated. They helped with everything from actual hands-on assistance with the remodel, to a marketing campaign that was not only on-line but included door knocking the entire neighborhood, to really scrutinizing the financial information of potential buyers to ensure the property doesn’t fall out of escrow. And to top it off, ice cream at the grand opening house weekend. Here’s a little background: My mom passed away and her home had to be sold. I decided to remodel it before putting it on the market. The remodel was supposed to take two months, but it ended up being a nightmare that lasted six months as the contractor mismanaged the job. Several times during the remodel, Allen and Valerie pitched in to help. One such instance is when new windows were put in, which required the stucco to be patched around the windows. The color match for the stucco was not even close to the house color, so the entire house had to be painted. There wasn’t room in the budget for hiring a house painter, so we did it ourselves. And you know what, Allen and Valerie were there on the weekends rolling paint on stucco right along with my nephew and me. As the remodel went along, the contractor got slower and slower and even slower at completing the work. So finally, I had had enough and terminated the contract with the contractor. Allen and Valerie were able to recommend another contractor who was reliable, did quality work, and finished the work in a timely manner. Once the house was ready to be put on the market, it was staged. Valerie was very meticulous with the staging. She went in and looked at the room from different angles, determined the best color scheme, and then staged it in a way that would be the most enticing to the potential buyer. The house went into escrow two weeks after listing and sold at an above-listing price. One thing to note is that the house was listed in November, which is typically a slow and undesirable time to sell. Yet, in spite of this, they were able to sell it quickly and get a price that was above the asking price. Another thing to note is that when you work with Allen and Valerie, you don’t just get real estate agents. You get two handymen, a strategist, an interior designer, two marketing professionals, and a wealth of knowledge and resources in addition to real estate agents.
