I refuse to get repairs done at stealerships so I was searching reddit for a good Honda mechanic in the DFW area for my 2016 Civic. Hondura came up in my search and this place wasn't too far from my work, so I decided to bring it here. To give a bit of background, I like to do DIY work on my car, so I'm not car illiterate, but I'm also no professional mechanic. I had already diagnosed a starter issue - called them and they gave me a price on parts and labor, which were much better than the dealership and on par or even slightly less expensive than other independent mechanics I called. I brought in my own starter, they only charged me $295 for labor, and I was out the door 2hrs later with a working car again.
Paul was great. I didn't get to interact much with him because my issue was very straightforward. But he made sure to talk to me to confirm the starter was indeed the culprit. There were other customers in the shop, and I heard most of their conversations. He's honest and tells them exactly what they need. Most of his customers are repeat customers and know him by name as soon as they walk in. This place even has a driver to take you down to an AutoZone or O'Reilly's down the street so you can buy...
Read moreI was travelling on a work trip and had a light come on my dash. I came by Hondura Car Service since it was the closest, highly rated auto shop. I came in without an appointment and they told me it would be 30 minutes to check it out. There were at least 10 people in the waiting room so I was a little skeptical on the time. I was VERY surprised when they came back after 20 minutes and had a diagnosis and a handwritten quote for repair. Unfortunately I did not have time to have them do the 3 hour repair but they said I was okay to drive with the light. I tried to pay them for the diagnosis but they refused. Multiple customers spoke up, saying I was not going to get very far with paying them. They said they were all returning customers, and that this place was the BEST in customer service. That was clearly apparent to me at that point, but to hear customers speak up like that was surprising.
A big thank you to Hondura Car Services for being so good and so kind. I wish I lived in the DFW area so I could use them for all of my auto...
Read moreI have used Paul's service for 14 years. He was on vacation recently when I had a problem getting my car started. It just made a ticking noise when I turned it on. The second in command (a true shyster) said it was probably the starter. I had it towed and had a new starter installed for $300. Every day after that for 7days, it was very difficult to start. Yesterday, all I got was the ticking noise. Called a tow truck. The driver asked what was happening and I told him it wouldn't even turn over -- just a ticking noise. He put a charge on the battery and it turned over immediately. It was never the charger. So I could have spent $150 for a new battery and saved myself another $150 that I didn't need to spend on a starter. Horrible experience and I will...
