This is my first negative review ever. To summarize, this was the worst purchasing experience of my life due to horrible behavior by the owner and indefinite delays.
My initial experience was good. I wound up buying a bedroom set and adjustable base at a slightly higher price so I could support Speedy. I was worried about the delivery window but was assured everything would arrive before my move in date (2 months away).
The arrival date passed (2 weeks before move in), and I hadnât heard from Speedy. Several days later, they called to tell me a piece hadnât come in. âNot a problem, when will it get here?â They said theyâd call me back. Several days later, the owner calls, clearly unhappy, and tells me half my bedroom set hasnât come in and he isnât sure when it will. Again, I asked when it would arrive. He told me heâd get back to me. Finally, a few days before I move in, he calls and tells me he has âabsolutely no ideaâ when my furniture will get in. In this phone call he begins lying repeatedly and shifting blame onto anyone else, including me, the customer. I told him I needed a time frame or this wouldnât work for me.
I then received emails, where he lied repeatedly. He blamed me for my slow decision making, he lied about them pressuring me to buy sooner (this is a blatant lie as I never spoke to them about beds until the day before), as well as multiple other lies about various scenarios that never happened. I responded by correcting him and telling him he had confused me with someone else, and even verified on my end that some of his claims were 100% false. I then told him I would need a refund if they could not provide a time frame. I got another email with more lies, more hostile tones, more blame shifting. I once again told him he was being dishonest and wanted a refund. During this time, he did offer a partial delivery and a small discount, which would have been acceptable if I had any guarantee that Iâd be receiving the rest of the furniture. However, he couldnât give me a date or estimate, and other stores were telling me the furniture in question was very possibly discontinued. As such, that didnât work for me. After several more back and forths, he agreed to give me my refund.
If that was all, I wouldnât be leaving this review. However, after multiple requests for a refund and him agreeing to it, he then sent me my ârefund receiptâ with another hostile email as well as stating he took a 25% cancellation fee to protect his business. To be perfectly fair, the order receipt I signed does state there is an optional 25% cancellation fee at the ownerâs discretion. However, not once did he mention heâd be enforcing this fee until after the fact. But it was more important to him to take $500 from a retired widow than it was to do right by his customer who he had let down.
At this point Iâd like to clear something up: my cancellation and this review werenât for a delay in delivery. Those happen. My cancellation and bad review was due to HORRENDOUS behavior by the owner and zero guarantees as to when or IF iâd receive my furniture. If he had been polite and said âit will be a few monthsâ, we wouldnât have had any issues. However, he lied, tried to manipulate me, was hostile and couldnât give me any date or assurance at all.
Lastly, Iâd like to address the other reviews here. I have no doubt the majority of people had a good experience at Speedy. My initial experience was positive. If the furniture I had wanted was delivered within a reasonable time frame, this would have been a positive review. However, once problems arose, the owner became horrible and this became the worst purchasing experience of my life.
I think this lines up with the negative reviews, which mostly deal with unrealistic delays and unprofessional behavior from the owner. Even the companiesâ responses to the negative reviews show this. They are highly dismissive and condescending, calling anyone who is critical a bunch of liars. This is very unprofessional.

   Read moreWe unfortunately cannot submit feedback for a rating of zero stars. We have nothing to say positive about our experience with Speedy Furniture of Cranberry (now Zelienople). Here are just a few of the areas where the local Speedy Furniture failed:
Items were not delivered on time. Only after being notified that we would dispute the charges on our credit card did our furniture get scheduled to be delivered. We contacted the owner, Mark, several times via email and telephone. He only chose to respond once he was notified of our intent to dispute the charges on our credit card.
Once our furniture was scheduled to be delivered, they still did not deliver it according to the terms. It arrived late, damaged, and incomplete. The bedrails were not included in the late delivery of our furniture.
The bedrails were delivered by Mark several days later. The only exception is, they were damaged (cracked along the center of the rail â potentially risking injury to our child who is laying in the bed). Mark promised that he would have the replacement bedrails within the week.
After many phone calls to a closed location and then to the new Zelienople location, we were informed that our bedrails were ordered but would not arrive for 10-14 days. After 14 days, we contacted Speedy to inquire about the status of our replacement bedrails. The representative who finally returned our calls and voicemail agreed to have the replacement bedrails delivered today, Thursday, August 29, 2019 after 7:00 PM. The replacement bedrails did not arrive today.

   Read moreExcellent experience here during the sales process. The selection is pretty impressive and the staff are quite knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. They are patient and as far from "pushy" as you will ever deal with in a retail setting. Highly recommended!
*As for the product.... The only issue we have is that the couch itself is not aging well at all. We have had it less than a month. As of this update, it is April 30th. We picked it up after Easter and it already shows signs of wear. Some cushions look stretched and crushed and has noisy springs since the first week. Not too impressed with this particular brand. Maybe it was built on a Monday??
*Another update 10/7/21: The couch needed attention and was looked at to see if the problems could be fixed. It turns out we are supposed to get replacement pieces for it. It has been at least a couple of months and we are unfortunately still waiting for resolution. We haven't received a call back for delivery of any new pieces (one was supposed to be there) as we were told we would. It hasn't been a good year-long experience at all. Was a 5 star experience, but not so much at this point.
*Update 3/1/22: Got a call not long after the last review update. The pieces were coming in slowly, but eventually arrived. Then they scheduled delivery. Unfortunately one of the replacement pieces is making MORE noise than the last one and is getting worse over time! Less that one year of ownership and had issues twice already. VERY UNSATISFIED with this product. Definitely would not...
