"Game X Change is a great place to get used DVDs and games, but don't get your hopes high" (All of your questions will be answered below)
I go to Game X Change every month or so getting old school video games or just some movies to watch and stuff. They got TONS of movies. One time, one guy came in trading in probably 100+ of movies and DVDs and it was crazy. Not just that though, their movies are cheap too! I got SouthPark Seasons 1-5 here for a whopping $16! The funny thing is it that it's $30 at Walmart, but here, because it's used it's cheaper.
The movies aren't the only things that are cheap too, so are PS2 games, some XBOX games, and every other type of game from a system you could think of....However, how cheap things are comes with a price. Not just because the games are cheap, but because they are used too!
If you're buying a game or movie there, Game X Change will take your discs and put it in a machine called a "Disc Bufferer" or as someone told me, a "CD Resurfacer." The disc could have scratches and you put it in, WALLA, it comes out brand new looking and everything...However, this can be deceiving. Almost every game there does work indeed, however, some don't.
I've experienced this before when I got me a game there that looked new because of the machine, but I tested it out and it did not work at all. Now it's not every game or CD here, only a select few...nothing big...
Not just that, but the consoles may have a small problem. Now they do test out all of the consoles there before they put them on shelves, but I have this one experience with a Game Gear I recently purchased there. The sound did not work at all and I had to tilt the screen to see the game. Although this is common for a Game Gear because their lifespan is utterly crap, Game X Change should have known so. Other than that, consoles work perfectly! Bought a used 360 there for $110 which came with hard drive and everything, worked perfectly!
Now you're wondering about trade-in value there right? Well the trade in is certainly better than GameStop, but you might not get as much as expected. If you trade in a console like PS2 with a ton of games, you'll get above $50 because I got $70, but when you look at the receipt to see how much you got for each game, it's not much. This only really applies to PS2s!
Trade in some PS4 games, 360 games, PS3 games, you'll get yourself a great deal! A friend of mine actually traded in about 6 games, a few were 360, one was PS4 I believe, and one was a Dreamcast game and got $60! Now that's pretty good for today's standards!
They also sell tons of accessories for your consoles! You have a PS2, want a cheap controller? Get one from there! It'll be off-brand, but it works fine and is $10 or less I believe. Want a PS4 controller used? Still cheaper than a new one and so on.
The staff is very nice too! The manager is a female and before you say, "girls don't know crap about video games so why is one running a game store," this woman knows and is friendly too!
The wait time at check-out can vary though. Usually, they have 2 people working at once and it's not really jammed pack so it's good for a while...but then when someone like me or someone else comes in and trades their stuff for store credit or cash, it takes time for the staff to pull up the prices on the CDs and only one person will be working at checkout while the other is getting the prices for the trade ins so don't come expecting checkout to be short. Not just that though, as mentioned earlier, they use a machine to take scratches off of discs at checkout and since only like a disc or two can stay in the machine at a time, it takes a while...but not too long.
I'd say Game X Change is a good place to go to! They have video games for pretty much every system you know from NES, Genesis, 64, PS2, XBOX 360, and SO MANY MORE! The movies and prices on discs are good too! Recommend...

Home to some of the lowest trade-in values in town, Game Xchange in Jackson, Tennessee has policies that are sure to keep you from ever stepping foot inside of it. I had the misfortune of becoming victim to their so-called return policy which is that every item purchased in the store is only returnable for store credit, whether you decided you changed your mind or that it wasn't working/was broken from the start.
I purchased an iPod from them today for a mere $20, took it home and came to realize that it would not hold a charge and when it finally did turn on, the screen was only half working. I didn't think much of it, a simple mishandling of a trade-in led them to accept a broken item. I promptly gave them a phone call explaining the situation, but was met with the horror of all refunds are to be paid in store credit! I rarely buy anything from here or come to this place at all, so store credit has no use for me. What made matters even worse is that I was told that the next available iPod was $70 in the case so i had nothing I couldn't even use the store credit on. Am I supposed to spend another $50 to make my initial purchase viable?
I decided to buy a random video game for $20 to get SOME use of my store credit to which I traded in to Nerdvana on Vann Drive for $12. I lost $8 on this endeavor, all I wanted was a working iPod they were selling in their case! A truly horrendous return policy that I have to wonder if it is even legal. I will be investigating the legality of this policy, you can be assured Game Xchange!
For those of you who may not see this as a major issue; they refused to refund my $20 purchase, a small amount. What happens when you buy a $300 PS4 and it doesn't work? You guessed it, useless store credit that can only be used to buy their overpriced and apparently...
