The building has a Chuckee Cheese connected. It has 2 major dept stores left which is JC Penny's and Belks. There is Lens Eye ,The Children's Place, A T Shirt printing store, Pandora and a whole lot of jewelry stores for whatever reason. There is a Bath and Body Works, Lids Hats,Claires, About 4 shoe stores for sneakers and 1 for everyday shoes and dress shoes. A kids play area that is very nice and a few riding machines for them, and a Spencers store with a few miscellaneous stands that sell, sunglasses jewelry, purses, phone accessories, and toys about 4 or 5 stands. 1 restaurants iside the mall which is an Chinese food. There is a Chick-fil-A and KFC restaurant outside the north side of the mall which is about 3minutes walk. Also across the streets u have Starbucks Popeyes ,and McDonald's is about a 6 minute walk and a few more fast foods as well as a Catfish restaurant across the street. The Mall doesn't have much inside but it has a few clothing stores like Rainbow etc..but it is still standing. It does need maybe a few places to eat and maybe a movie theater inside then it would probably bring back more stores and definitely more shoppers. At Christmas and Easter Santa and the Easter Bunny comes so I always take photos with the girls so that's a plus. It's not much but it's still a mall and it still...
Read moreWe went to the mall to find some shoes for a specific purpose. Frankly, I was a little bit nervous about being there, I am aware of bad things happening. When I was there last, all the anchor stores were still there and open for business. While we were there, I had to walk the entire mall too find the shoe stores. I couldn't find a mall directory for guidance. I had to tell my husband with alzheimer and a broken ankle to sit down while I ran around trying to find shoe stores. I don't think I saw a dozen other shoppers anywhere in the whole mall. From the mall to in the stores, everything I saw was nice and clean and neat. It was a little sad to see so little shopping activity, no pizza and coffee aromas wafting though the air, the energy was absent. I almost felt like I was shopping alone in a closed mall. Very sad. Those poor businesses must be hanging in by a mere thread. So many closed stores! I used to enjoy going to the mall to shop, maybe have a slice of fresh pizza, taking a break with a coffee and having no concerns about my safety. I don't think a sense of concern about safety is the reason the mall is so empty. I suspect it's just past it's prime since the Columns and online have become the...
Read moreA smell of it's former self. In the 80's and 90's it was the center of most shopping in Jackson. Now, the only two anchor stores left close their doors to the rest of the mall. Almost like they are separate. The rest of the mall has more space vacant than open stores. Kinda as sketchy feel to everything. Bathrooms were nasty. Very few recognizable store brands left operating. It seemed like the air conditioner was off in the common areas in the mall. They were broken floor tiles as well as leaky looking ceiling tiles. I guess it is truly time to repurpose this thing and give up guys. You had a good run. I remember back in the '90s there was steak escape, Taco Bell, many other places to eat. Eat. People were here everyday. It seemed busy. There were security guards everywhere. The mall office has all the lights turned off like they're never here. There's usually one security guard for the entire mall. Just a weird dead place. Cool to visit if you like...
