Down sizing food I live in Ga however I was born in Jackson and known about this restaurant all my life and have had many a meal there I have ever taken my mom there for her birthday. However I came to Jackson this past weekend for her birthday and she want catfish for her dinner and because she was turning 97 on her birthday, it does not get around as well as she used to I call an order for us a two piece and a three piece so we could enjoy a meal together. Mind you, we have eaten there numerous times and always been satisfied with the quantity of the food however, when I picked the order up and got back to the house and open the box, I found that what I had was not two catfish fillets however it was one catfish fillet cut in half Meaning I was I ordered a two-piece but I only got a one piece cut in half and the three-piece meal order was incorrectly made and I received one piece of fish cut in half which they called a two piece. I did call the restaurant to inquire what had happened and I was informed that this is the way they do their portioning for fish although they say it’s a two-piece in reality it’s just one piece of fish cut in half. And I would much rather have paid more money and received the quantity of fish that I was expecting then to be surprised with the fact that they’re downsizing their portions, but continually to charge...
Read moreI regret this incident happened but it needs posting and sharing… I concur with those who have shared that the food is usually hot and delicious, the servers are friendly and helpful, but this time I had a problem while picking up a to-go order. I had picked up the same to-go order several times before but this time when I got home my wife stated that her steak was not good. It tasted wrong (funny). I took the plate back to the restaurant to request a remake. The cashier got the manager/owner. He asked what was wrong. When I told him that my wife said the steak tasted bad, he did not smell the steak or anything that I expected him to do. He simply told the cashier to refund the cost of the steak and strongly told me to tell my wife never to order another steak from him ever again. I then told him I was sorry that he was having a bad day and was going to say we normally love the place. He cut me off and said that he had just received that meat that day and had marinated it himself and—loudly—that there was nothing wrong with it. Then he walked away. Read moreFood is always great and we've never had a bad waitress. Didn't care for the busboy standing in the corner starring down customers waiting for them to leave. He wasnt starring us down but there was a table across from us that had been there well before we got there, they already had their food when we sit down. They were still there when we left. They weren't being overly loud but they were laughing and enjoying theirselves. Older people. It was just uncomfortable. I also didn't care for the waitress that was dancing in the corner. It was just trashy. Not what you wanna see in a family restaurant. She was just a young girl trying to make sure everyone seen her but it's just not the place. Just trashy. It we'd been in a bar you'd have expected it, but not in a place where there are family's dining. It'll be a while before we go back. Guessing those two won't have a long term jb there. Probably will get lots of complaints. Again, never had a bad experience until this one and our waitress did her job well. No complaints what so ever...
