This World Market is the one of two in Jacksonville. I have never been to the one on San Jose but I think I will try to get there soon. The one at the beaches always has good inventory and usually when I am looking for something imparticular/unique (home decor) I can find it here as opposed to Pier One Imports, Target, JoAnn's, Anthropologie, Ross, Big Lots, etc. The store is well-mainted, has a non-creepy friendly staff, and I could spend all day in the kids toys and books section because they have lots of retro toys and books. I visited several places looking for a unique fabric to cover a bench I purchased from Target because the white fabric was looking a little dingy for every day use. True to form, World Market had the best selection of possible materials for such a project. I was willing to use curtains, shower curtains, towels, fabric, rugs, etc. and wanted a Chinoiserie pattern but became so desperate I regrouped and focused on color and the need for pattern to break up my pink settee I ordered from World Market and my black Ethan Allen couch. Found a beautifully colored and patterned towel and completed the project...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stopped in here about a week ago, and while I waited for him to use the restroom, an employee came up to me and asked if I knew about the Golden Seahorse challenge. I was completely like "???" at first, but then she told me they were running a promotion where they had hidden golden seahorses across the store, and if you found one, you got a little gift certificate. I have never felt so much like a kid again. I was running around like it was Easter, peeking behind things, picking things up, and lo and behold, I found one! I got a little $10 gift certificate, and I couldn't be happier with the customer service. If that employee hadn't seen me waiting around bored, I wouldn't have known the promotion was even going on. They have tons of interesting beverages, alcoholic and not, and I ended up getting an international collection of sodas. They have an amazing kitchen section as well with all sorts of natural goods, and hand made goat milk soaps in the...
Read moreSuch an awful experience shopping with them for the first time. Ordered a few things online that were supposed to have a coupon applied. Coupon did not get applied, customer service would not assist so I was told to return it to nearest store. Drove 30 minutes to return. The cashier, tho very pleasant, could not figure out how to process the transaction. Manager comes over, does not even acknowledge me. As I am standing right there, she looks at the cashier, rolls her eyes and says “she is returning ALL of them?!”. Because “online returns are tricky” she was having trouble processing it too. She could not calculate it to the exact amount I paid. I took the shortage and left. No apology, no empathy shown, absolutely no effort made to provide good service. Will not shop with them again, online...
