I love Aldi but will no longer shop the Normandy location. There was a nice lady in checkout ahead of me who was smiling and even let someone with less items go in front of her. When it was her turn the cashier who was an older lady with salt and pepper longish hair just started throwing her groceries in the cart...the lady politely asked her to please stop throwing her groceries...the cashier completely ignored her and continued to hurl her items. Then the lady had to ask for her receipt and the cashier just snatched it and shoved it at her. The lady told cashier to have a great day and the cashier responded sarcastically "You have the day you are having" I know the cashiers are timed and in a hurry but a little customer service goes a long way. I go through and cashier never acknowledged me and just threw my items too. The first lady asked to speak to Brian the manager and complained and then left store. As I was bagging my groceries I watched the manager with a smirk on his face go over to the cashier...the cashier responded with "Are you wanting to laugh"...and they proceed to talk about the customer. This did not set right with me at all. It showed me they do not value their customers and I then spoke with the manager concerning the interaction and he got an attitude with me. I spent years in customer service and this is not how you treat people spending their hard earned money. I will go miles out of my way to shop...
Read moreWe arrived around 2:00pm,Sunday afternoon,at Aldi's,on Normandy Blvd. It was the best time we've hit. We parked in the first handicap spot, something we haven't been able to do,and got their one and only ride-on. This Aldi is fairly new and very clean inside and out. Aldi has its own brand of various groceries, plus some name brand items too. A new one was Sweet Baby Ray's Buffalo sauce. It's in the same bottle as their barbecue sauce, which I think is the best. There's an abundance of chips,crackers,trail-mix,and European chocolate. Not to mention, every kind of fresh produce, both organic and conventionally grown. They have an assortment of meat, dairy, frozen, and canned goods. All of which I have found to be as good as,if not better than any name brand product. The few people who work there are always polite and helpful. The only real problem I've encountered,is the other patrons, who ignore you when you're on a ride-on. All in all,I think anyone will be glad they took the trip. You must pay a quarter to use a cart, which you get back, when you return your cart. (a savings Aldi passes on to you,for not having to do cart round ups) And you have to bring bags for your purchases. You can buy some there, but we all have a stash of Walmart bags,we can repurpose. I like this store and am glad we go the distance,to get there. The only thing that would make it better,is an...
Read moreI have enjoyed shopping here, however, recently I purchased shaved beef, it had a smell, that I'm not use to, so I thought once cooked and add ingredients for stir fry it would be better. It was disgusting, to the point it is just hanging out in the back of my throat. The worst grossest ever! I get that "sometimes" it happens. But this is the second time this has happened. I will be bringing shaved meat back to store for credit, hopefully they will honor it. As much as food costs these days, I just can't let it go! Not to mention the veggies and cheeses involved. It was all ruined because of bad meat. No deal is worth getting your whole family sick!!! Where are the good stores? Oh Publix, yeah from now on, that's where I'm going, I've never been so dissatisfied with a store, including Walmart which also is disgusting. I'm sorry folks but don't shop Aldi for your meats. Even the yard birds wouldn't eat it. I ended up burying it like a dead animal! Gross!!! And aldi use to be my go to for reasonable prices and quality food. 😔 it goes back to we are gonna all have to grow and manage our own. Honestly, even if they replace the 8 dollars, it's a yuk for me like a -5. That truly was the grossest dinner EVER!!! that even the chickens...
