I went in to purchase a first party PS2 controller, and was assured that the controllers were all tested to be working before even being sold, which was a complete lie they told me to cheat me out of $16. I specifically mentioned at one point that I needed the D-pad to be in perfect condition for my needs.
When I got home, I immediately noticed that the left directional button was completely non-functional. No one ever tested this controller to make sure it was working, because this is too blatant of a defect to possibly miss. I called them to see if I could get my money back, since I was no longer too keen on even trusting them, let alone getting another controller from them, and the only response was "We're not allowed to give money back, only store credit".
So now, within the next few days, I have to drive all the way back over to their store for THEIR mistake, waste more of MY time and gas, and probably get another broken controller, for which I'll leave another review here.
The lesson? Game X Change employees are allowed to sell faulty equipment, lie to your face, and waste your time, but you're not allowed to have your money back after they do so.
Stay away from this store, I highly doubt the condition of their games is any better than the condition of the controller I received. And if what you get is broken, they've trapped you into having to spend money on something else at their worthless store, with no consequence to anyone but you.
Update 1: Upon further attempts to play with the "Controller" I realize that the up and down D-pad buttons are also completely non-functional.
Update 2: Well, I turned the controller back in today for another one, and I received a surprise that no one could have possibly predicted:
It's D-Pad is also broken.
ANOTHER round trip has been wasted, another hour of my time, and all I have to show for it is a controller that sounds like a maraca on it's insides, needs an elephant's weight put on the left direction to go left, and occasionally decides every couple of seconds that when I press right, I actually meant up, left, or down.
Looks like I'm now a regular customer, and by regular customer, I mean I'll be forced to go in every week to pick up another controller with a different defect that makes games unplayable, until a miracle finally happens, and I get one that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought a Nintendo 3ds at the Palestine game exchange and it stopped charging after the second day I had it. They didn't have another one to trade bit I could get store credit wich is fine but I really needed another 3ds. So I called the Jacksonville tx location and talked to David. He couldn't have been more helpful! He went out of his way to help me out. Told said someone had just brought one in like they day before and they have a policy to wait a week before he could sell it to me so they make sure it wasn't stolen. Wich is of course understandable. So he took down my name and number. A week later David calls me up and tells me it's ready! I can't thank him enough! I appreciate it alot David. So yeah I really recommend Jacksonville...

Don't see the problem with me stepping in to see price with no help from employee and children allow to play up and down behind counter. Anyway they kept there game systems and I left. Shop...
