First, let me say I hate going to salons, but it's due to my own insecurities. As a result, I almost never look in the mirror while my hair is being cut. I tried Hair Cuttery because I was sick of my hair being too long and there were only a few places open on a Monday evening. I was a walk-in. There was only one other customer and two stylists. One generously took me for a wash and quick cut. I told her I'm uncomfortable in salons. I told her blunt cut to the shoulders. I told her I had a natural part and where, and I didn't look up again. She cut, dried, and styled my hair using a curling iron, not that I asked for it. I know she was trying to make me feel better about my hair, the salon, etc., but when I got home and saw it ... oh no. Somehow, she didn't use my natural part that I told her about, and I had what I thought were only a few long strands but when I tried snipping them, it turned out to be a significant portion of my hair was an inch longer than what I could find to be the average length on that side. Once the curl straightened, I see it's also uneven all around. It was already late and I wasn't driving back there. I work FT and I already had plans directly after work for the next 4 days. So, I'm wearing my hair up until I can get someone to fix it. I called the shop but I hate confrontation -- the stylist who did it answered the phone, and apparently the manager is out until next week. I'm going to have to take off work to fix this. Read moreHonestly I don't normally leave reviews but I felt like I needed too. This has recently been my go to hair salon and even told my family about it and friends. But today I came in for a cut/blowdry with the keratin treatment which was $149 and I tipped $20. Darcy cut my hair. I didn't know she was a recently new hair stylist until half way into the process which is totally fine. I'm very easy going. But the haircut has some un-even spots and then after I thought I was done with the entire process paid and everything I got a call that she forgot to wash the product out. She kept reassuring me during the process that it is always this "sticky" and "greasy" looking. She blow dried and straightened my hair WITH the KERATIN still in it. (mind you I have never had the keratin treatment done before so I was taking her word for it). So now I have to go back inside so she can wash the product out and re-wash and blow dry and straighten my hair. While I am in the chair for the 2nd time her next appointment comes in and I can tell she is stressed out and starts rushing with my hair. So this "straight" hair I am supposed to have is now semi straight and she didn't even straighten the baby hairs. I'm just so upset because this was not cheap and it was my first time getting this treatment done and it was not a good experience. Read moreAfter a glitch with the online booking website, an encounter at another Haircuttery location with a very rude employee, I arrived at this location, about 30 minutes late to my appointment due to the online booking glitch.
At first, they could not find my appointment. It had been marked as a no call no show in the system. The first person I dealt with really couldn't help me, so she called her manager. They tried to work out a solution, but no other stylist was willing to take me as I required a color service that would take too long and conflict with their other appointments.
After a bit of a distressing experience with Haircuttery in general the manage worked me in and even stayed later than she was scheduled to make sure I was taken care of.
Mitzi went above and beyond to rectify a problem that was in no way her fault. She showed compassion and shared my frustration over the glitch and found a solution immediately.
Not only that, when she did my hair, she listened to exactly what I asked for and executed perfectly. I love the color and the cut she gave me. She did a phenomenal job.
Mitzi turned my incredibly stressed morning into a pleasant afternoon because of her unselfishness and compassion. I so appreciate her willingness to work with me and can't recommend her services...
