Have given this place a try 5-6 times since they opened in the neighborhood. Typically I don't leave reviews on anything unless the service/quality/etc. has hit ABSOLUTE ROCK BOTTOM - well today is that day. Tried to eat lunch here today - unfortunately it will definitely be the LAST TIME. Food quality was very poor. Cheese dip/Queso was exceptionally poor. I didn't send anything back. Server was less than attentive as she was too busy coloring or studying or whatever is was that kept her occupied in that book as opposed to serving the customers. I asked for the queso to accompany my tiny tiny basket of chips that was provided. She put it on my bill as a 'large' queso for $8.99 ???? The queso was the equivalent of 'milky water' - barely edible - and I barely touched it. When I asked her "since when does the queso dip cost $8.99?" - she tells me that since I didn't specify what size I wanted they automatically give the "large" - well sweetheart - you didn't ASK what size I wanted either - as I was unaware there was one than one size. Perhaps she was too interested in getting back to her coloring book?? At any rate - if you want POOR QUALITY, OVER PRICED, potentially non-edible food - then by all means eat here. If you want QUALITY, TASTY, reasonably priced Mexican food - then do yourself a favor and EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE - there are several much better options in the...

My girlfriend & I had high hopes for this place but it was such a let down.. I ordered the combination #4 with two tacos and rice and the ground beef was very bland and not quite cooked thoroughly. It seems like they just threw it in the pan and served it on a hard corn shell. And my girlfriend ordered the #9 combination which came with a burrito, enchilada, and rice the enchilada consisted of the same barely cooked ground beef that had absolutely no seasoning and was as dry as it could be and the burrito was just a bigger tortilla with the same bland, barely cooked ground beef. After two bites of the bland enchilada, it completely killed her appetite and she couldn’t eat any more of the plate. Also, I ordered a queso and they charged me $8.99 for the queso. I paid $50 total for 2 tortillas and 2 corn shells with plain ground beef and a basic bowl of queso. Please whatever you do save your money and do not eat at this establishment. I promise you it is not worth your time or money. Me and my girlfriend will never...

This location just opened so there are still kinks that need ironing. We were torn with one of us rating a 2 and the other a 4, so a 3 it is. The dining room is clean and fresh; hopefully they won’t let the fake wisteria and fancy lights get dusty. The soft drinks had a bit of an odd taste so get your distributor back in to fix the system. Salsa was very good and had a decent kick, plus it had visible cilantro. Chips were fine. The carnitas burrito was very good, with tasty pork. The quesadilla with beef was also good. Rice and beans were fine. The tamale, though, was a huge disappointment: very little meat, undercooked masa and far too much tomatillo, plus it was dinky for the price. Service was fine but why three different servers stopped by at various times instead of just one is a mystery. Overall, the visit was fine but we will give them a little time to get in the groove...

The service is amazing!!! Kali followed up at the end to ensure we had a great experience. The shrimp nachos just melted in our mouth! Margaritas were delicious. I knew east coast and west coast have different ideas of “Mexican” food. I feel Jacksonville Fl has a 3rd take on it. I’d say it’s comparable to all the others here in Jax, except the portion sizes are worth the price! Only opportunities were the flavor of the ground beef in my taco and no kids menu for my kid to visually look at. She is visual, so she ordered from the adult menu. Bonus, they have vegan and vegetarian options. We seen little signs for advertising, thought it was on the other side of the road bc of the signs locations. Looked 2 times over there and gave up. Went to get pizza tonight and had to park further down, that is how we finally found this place.

So nice to finally have a neighborhood Mexican restaurant in this area! The food and the customer service was excellent and menu selection was very nice. This place has been fully remodeled and looks great with large and comfortable booths. I was surprised to see French fries served with our burritos. They were excellent but next tine I'll ask for beans and rice. No big deal. The music in there was being played way too loud and was stressful to endure. The tile floors reflect sound and the acoustic environment transmits noise easily. Small shortcomings aside, I'll definitely be back.

So yeah…. Much different than I imagined before walking in. Bright and clean with huge booths for everyone. Staff, especially Susanna, friendly and helpful, and on top of things, and the beer was cold - nice 32ozers for those who appreciate. Finally, a good Chile Poblano! Why anyone would order queso and not this…. Local secret. Prices were good. I think the most expensive thing was 21 bucks. From there, 11, 12 - 14 bucks’ll get you fed nicely. Well done and welcome to the neighborhood.
