Acme the Appliance Store — Local services in Jamestown

Bought brand new washer and dryer about a month ago, washer stopped spinning. I left a message and never got a call back then called again. Was told they would submit an order to warranty company. Wait a week and still heard nothing, I stopped in there, they gave me paperwork proof of the appt they made for 11/5. So here we are, family of 5, brand new appliance and have to go to the laundry matt. I called the warranty company as well, no good luck with them either, they just kept telling me that is what was scheduled. Talking to others about this, someone else I know purchased brand new appliances from here recently and went a long time before hearing anything back. My point, always check online reviews and reviews from others before buying from someone that isn't a corporate. I even told them they could come get the appliances and refund me and they laughed and said that isn't how it works. So to anyone looking for new appliances, don't go here. I am submitting a formal complaint with the BBB because I have heard quite a few not so good things from here. My one star is only there so it would let me post this! Decent selection of appliances. However, it was very off putting. The gentleman I assume to be the owner refused any thought of taking the fridge on my own which I could understand due to negligence in loading. Where it got weird was when I was told he would have to load it on his dolly but he couldn't actually deliver the fridge due to being 61, just drive it to my house. So needless to say it would only make sense to have at least entertained the idea of me taking it, especially considering I've been delivering furniture and appliances for a local rent to own for a few years. The fridge would have had to go up a flight of stairs and refused to allow the idea of me using my appliance dolly made specifically to go up stairs instead of his basic 2 wheel dolly as I understood. After this experience I wont be including Acme Appliance in any comparison shopping, purchases, or service/repair in the future. Purchased a new refrigerator from them 4 years ago when our old just quit, out of the blue. No one in the Jamestown/Lakewood area could get us a new fridge delivered in less than 3-5 days, but Acme Appliance did. They delivered our new fridge, the exact model we wanted, the very next day and took our old fridge away with them. It was a terrific experience. The salesman answered all our questions and everything they promised was delivered. Today, my mother-in-law's fridge died and I told her to skip everyone else and go directly to Acme. She called them early this morning, they were in and available before their published store hours, so she went right to their showroom, found that they carried the make and model that she wanted, so she ordered the new refrigerator on the spot and when she asked when they could deliver it they told her, within 2 hours. And it was 2 hours. They took her old fridge away and essentially turned what could have been a mini-disaster for her into a very pleasant experience!
