Diane's Formal Affair — Local services in Jasper

On my original visit for my wedding dress I had a great experience, however the dress i fell in love with was out of my budget because i was paying for the dress my self. So i settled but within an hour of leaving my dad offered the difference so i could get my dream dress. They have no return policy but since i had not taken the dress out of store and had contacted them so quickly they made an exception which i am super thankful for. When i went in less than a month later with my 6 bridesmaids that all purchased their dresses there i tried mine on again as i and the lady helping me told me i had gained to much weight it didn't fit, another girl came and zipped it right up. All the bridesmaids dresses that were measured for came back entirely to big and had to have some serious alterations which made them even more money!! On my wedding day my dress basically collapsed right after i put it on and my chest area was bulging out. I called them and was told that there is nothing they will do as i had already left the store with the dress and there is no telling what i had done to it. They told me maybe i was zipped up wrong?? She also said didn't we already make an exception for you which is out of our policy.. basically she blamed me for everything and only offered to have the seamstress look at it at my cost!! They offered me nothing for ruining my day and gave me sass on the phone as well. I paid over 2000 for the dress and even had to buy their garment bag my girls paid over 300 a piece when all said and done and they were rude to me. I have always bought pageant and prom dresses there as well but i will never be back!! Also on the original day i was told i could only have two guest with me which broke my heart cause i wanted my dad there. I had a TERRIBLE experience at Diane's. First off all of the dresses you are looking through are in a room about the size of a small bedroom and cramped. Second, they are all in plastic bags so you can't see what the dress looks like. The room with all the mirrors to look at the dress once you try it on is so dim and small you can't even get the full effect of what your dress is going to look like. The owner was rude and did not have a welcoming presence at all. The lady that worked with me got mad bc I wasn't liking any of the dresses I tried on and told me (with an attitude) to go pick out what dress I wanted to try on next because nothing she picked out was good enough. I am a size 6 or 8 (which I don't think is very large) and most of the dresses were so small that I couldn't even tell what it was going to look like if it did fit, so they really need to order larger dresses. The lady then proceeded to tell me that the dresses were not going to fit so I needed to use my imagination a little better. It was just all around a terrible experience and I would never send anyone I know there because finding the perfect dress is stressful and should be an exciting and fun experience. So if anyone lives around birmingham or Jasper DO NOT go to Diane's. I strongly recommend Bella Couture...

I hate giving bad reviews. My son got married almost 2 months ago. I got my dress here and they were awesome super nice and helpful. My dressed had to be altered I picked it up the week of the wedding. I tried it on it looked amazing. I got to the venue put it on and started walking around. I noticed sequins started falling off. The picture was taken after a hour. They kept falling off. I didn't take a final picture but the whole bottom of the dress was bare. Everyone kept asking what was going on cause I was leaving a trail every where I went. I called Dianes and they told me try to tie off the strings to stop it and to bring the dress in that week so they could look at it. I did and she was like they would get with the manufactured and see what happened. Several people looked at the wedding said there was no hem it was just cut off. I wouldn't give a bad review if they would have just handled it and called back in a timely manor.There customer service sucks. It been almost 2 months they have my dress and no one will call me back. I have called a few times and the person I need to talk to is never there and no one ever calls back. I feel if they had got the dressed called and then said something back fast I wouldn't have been so upset. Just beware I guess they don't like...
