Garner Ace Hardware — Local services in Jasper

I have been a long time resident of the Jasper, GA/Talking Rock, GA (Pickens County, GA) area. I call this place home and gratefully so. Many years ago I had the privilege of meeting the Garner's, who own this Ace Hardware Store, as well as their excellent employees. If you miss that old school, down to earth hometown feeling and, more importantly, the best customer service which seems to have fallen to the wayside with all of the "big box stores"...... then look no further than Garner Ace Hardware! These are the type of people that would literally give you the shirt off their back so to speak. Someone ALWAYS answers the phone when you call (and yes.... A REAL PERSON...... not some ridiculous automated, sit on hold, press 1 for customer service....press 2 for billing...... press 3 to leave a voicemail....yada, yada, yada.... you get where I'm coming from I'm sure). The Garner's and their workforce are second to none. As you may notice in my previous reviews, they are all 5 stars. I am not one to give credit unless credit is due and this Ace Hardware deserves credit, period! You are warmly welcomed as soon as you walk in the store, your questions are answered politely, professionally and immediately and their staff will personally take you to the aisle to help you find what you are looking for. I could go on and on....lol. I had much rather prefer giving my business, and money, to the local, smaller and well established hometown businesses as opposed to those other orange and blue colored stores. Great job Garners! There's a reason you guys and gals are still in business with all of the new growth around us, why; Quite simply because of the way you run your business, treat your customers, and your involvement within your community. Keep up the good work and you will always have...

My below remarks are my opinion. I was recommended to this company to get my chain saws serviced. I arrived on a Saturday before noon. I found 5 people standing around and not one other customer in the store. I brought my saws inside and asked them to service them and sharpen the blades.

I asked if the air filters need replaced to save the old air filters. The owner's reply was "what, you don't trust us?" "We have been here 37 years".

I stated I did not know him from Adam. I would never trust any company without having a history with that company. FYI, if you do not require your car mechanic to produce the old parts they replaced how do you know the part needed replaced....right?

My candor and honesty offended the owner but instead of refusing to service my saws he accepted my saws with the understanding he would complete the work. I asked when my saws would be ready and he sarcastically stated, "when I call you" and I laughed at him.

Incredibly, he calls me Monday stating he was refusing to service my saws which simply wasted all my time.

I would not trust these worthless rednecks with my garbage. If you grew up in Jasper you might think this type of business practice is cute. I will predict they are out of business soon.

You decide if you want to do business with someone who's mommy and daddy gave him the business and operates it with 5 total people standing around doing nothing. How much to you think you will pay for anything from such worthless people?

Excellent!! Greg is your man for plumbing in and around Jasper...Walked in the door with a shower P trap from a RV which is made from ABS pipe. I knew they didn't carry AƁS but what I needed was for them to build me a P trap which would screw into the shower drain at 1 1/2 inch but reduce down to fit a 1 1/4 inch drain pipe after the P trap. In less than a couple of minutes Greg had my issue figured out and had built me exactly what I needed. Very much appreciated! Second time he has figured out an issue for me quickly and had me out the door in no time. I did go to the Home Depot first but their reaction was that's from a RV and we don't carry that pipe...told them I know but can we build one that would work. He tried for a couple of minutes and said you might want to go to Ace...NO problem...that's where I'll go....
