My mother was planning to donate my uncle's stereo console to a thrift store, but she let me have it instead. My uncle has been gone for many years and the stereo was stored on the unheated sun porch in Indiana. My stepdad would use 3-in-1 oil to get the turntable to spin, but it had stopped turning. The AM/FM radio worked and the speakers sounded like 1950's. I brought it home to Georgia and took it to North Georgia TV Repair. I told Sam the history of the stereo and he gave me a price range. Once he got into the repair he called and said the price would be the higher of the range he had quoted to me. I agreed to the price. He meticulously restored the turntable, and all auxiliary lights. He put in a new needle and would play it for testing. It had a lot of bugs to get worked out. He had it for awhile, but only because he was not going to send it home with me and have something happen. When I picked it up he told me the stereo was sold by Montgomery Wards in 1960. I have lots and lots of records; 78's, 45, 33's and some long playing vinyl. The stereo plays 16, 33, 45, and 78 rpm. The needle is reversible so it can play the 78's. He added an iPod jack so I can play from my phone as well. He explained the speaker and horn sound system. He spent more time than my payment would have covered, but he honored his quote. I love listening to the sound of this machine; it is a time machine. It is not like my MacIntosh integrated amplifier with Rega turntable and Totem speakers that give excellent sound and nuances and that is why it is special. Thank you Sam and...
Read moreSam Parker and his company exemplify everything that a good company should be. They are professional, courteous, talented, and fairly priced. It is hard to find a company in this day and age that you can rely on to give you up front prices and true quality services (with REAL warranties on their work)! Sam has not only installed my home theatre and hand selected my (amazing) television, but also rennovated and enhanced the performance of my 1958 Magnificent Magnavox console with tube amps, and boy does it sound...
Read moreCalled with a question about TV mounting. He was very knowledgeable and even talked me OUT of doing something that would be detrimental to the tv. Could have easily done the job and collected some money, but instead was honest and truthful about the downsides of my particular mounting situation and probably saved my TV from damage down the road. Will definitely use him for...
