The Last Catch — Restaurant in Jasper

It's the last time you'll catch us here! We've eaten here three times. The first time the tilapia tasted like dirt. The second time the food was pretty good, but not great. Tonight's meal was the worst and the manager added insult to injury. The calimari was undercooked, tough, and oily. It was not flavorful. My wife got the coconut shrimp and when she bit into them the uncooked batter squished out. It was completely uncooked on the inside! She requested them to just bring her some regular fried shrimp and I confirmed that they had no flavor except either freezer burnt or old oil? Yuck! I ordered the sampler platter and the oysters, scallops, and fish were just ehh, but they had no flavor and again, were several minutes undercooked and oily. I should have sent mine back too! The best part was the deviled crab, the fries, and the hush puppies! To make the experience worse, the manager came to the table in a flippant tone and looked at my wife and said "I don't know what to tell you but the shrimp are fresh and we've been serving them all day and if they were bad, it would have been across the board"! There was no apology, no offer of anything else other than to replace the piece of fish I let my wife have so she wouldn't be hungry. I can vouch that the fried shrimp, fish, and scallops are not worth your money! Maybe their blackened or grilled is better, but I wouldn't eat another meal here if it was free!!

I know they are chains, but Captain D's and Red Lobster are 1,000% better and you'll save money in the process. The Cajun Depot in Ellijay is worth the drive!

As of now, my wife is really sick at her stomach from her meal at Last Catch if that tells you anything. I honestly hope she doesn't need medical care! Don't waste your time, evening, or money...

First time visiting and will be our only visit. The Service was average. Nothing terrible about it but it was a long wait to order and to get any refills on drinks. The food was horrible. They brought out a complimentary small cup of their Crab Dip. It wasn't good - we didn't finish it. The Calamari appetizer we ordered was overcooked. I ordered the Crab Cakes. It came out with two Crab Cakes and Two Fried Green Tomatoes. Nothing on the menu indicated I would get the fried tomatoes so lucky I wasn't allergic or anything!! The Crab Cakes are described as being "fried to perfection". They were not. They were soggy and were not hot, only warm. They had the strongest taste, I actually had to stop eating or I would have thrown up on the table. They were not good at all. The Hush Puppies were good according to my husband, they were too sweet for me. The Fries and Coleslaw were the only good things on my plate. I only ate those and left everything else. After getting home, I felt sick, and I only ate a quarter of one crab cake. It is hours later now and I still feel sick. Hopefully I didnt get food poisoning from the Crab Cakes.. Didn't get to try anything except the fried pickles we ordered for an appetizer... they were good. When my husband came home from work we needed to go visit a family member that her mother had passed, he hadn't had anything to eat all day so we wanted to grab a bite before our visit. As soon as the waitress came out to get our drink order I told her we'd like to go ahead and place our order now so I included the appetizer with the food order. We got the appetizer but after an hour still hadn't gotten our food. She had failed to turn in our order. Basically they wait until the appetizer arrives before turning in the order and she never did so. She apologized and said she asked them to rush our order. After quite a bit more waiting a young man comes out and says there's two tickets in front of ours then ours would be up, thats when we decide to leave. The manager comes out as we are starting to leave and says don't worry I'll take care of it for you. All we had until this point was pickles and water. To have kept me as a customer she could have said we will prepare your food for you right now and will take 30% off. Instead she allows us to leave and does us a great favor of comping our pickles.
