I wasted $25. I took an old 2015 MacBook Pro that was making a terrible noise. He told me the motherboard was throwing codes, that it’s illegal for him to tamper with it because of Apple’s proprietary license, and that you can’t get those motherboards anyway.

So why didn’t he tell me that to begin with?

“Because maybe it was a software issue.” Right…

So I called the guy in Tallahassee who built the computer and he told to take it somewhere else, maybe a U Break I Fix place, because that proprietary license only covers 2018 and newer computers, the motherboard is cheap and easily replaceable, and that it wasn’t the motherboard in the first place, it was a fan with a bad bearing.

I don’t want to cast shade on the guy at CSR. All I can say is that it was a waste of time and money to take my computer there and I can’t recommend him based on my experience. That being said, he has some wonderful reviews, so maybe he’s just not a Mac guy. Or an...

This place had my laptop for over a week (coffee spill). Never once called to tell me anything about it. I had to call three times to check on it during that time. Was finally told it was the keyboard and it'd be ready once they got the part. Then, they randomly said it's dead. And charged me for misdiagnosing and diagnosing the issue.

As a contrast, I took it to Bob Bell up the street from there for a second opinion (trust issues here). He's a decades long vet in this industry. He took it apart, verified my problems. Called me within 3 hours with a detailed explanation of the issue, removed the battery for safety (liquid had gotten in it, undetected by these folks) and charged me nothing.

Chris is amazing!!! He couldn't fix my laptop (or he could, but due to the make/model and the way it was built it wouldn't have been worth the cost!!) He gave great advice and then went above and beyond and researched to find me a better quality laptop, taking into account what I'd be using it for and found me some great options, explained everything to me and I will absolutely be back for any kind of tech related issues!!! I will be a long time customer after his attention to detail and willingness to make sure I ended up with the perfect high quality computer for the best price. Can't thank you...
