• WORTH THE READ!!!!!!!!!!!! ** I had a very disappointing experience at this shop. We came in to get a piercing for my 17-year-old sister with me as the legal guardian and all required paperwork fully completed — including a notarized consent form, with the notary’s ID number, signature, and everything done according to Texas state law (where it was originally notarized before we moved to Illinois). The consent is valid until my sister turns 18.

However, the staff refused to accept the paperwork because it didn’t have a “textured” notary stamp. That’s not how notarizations are done in Texas everything is handled digitally now, which is completely legal and valid, EVERYWHERE. It felt like they didn’t even want to listen or take the time to understand the documentation.

We were respectful and followed all the rules they outlined beforehand, yet were still turned away. If your policies go beyond state law, that’s one thing but at least make that clear on your website or when people call in. We left feeling frustrated and dismissed after wasting our time,TWICE. Not a welcoming or accommodating experience at all. Would not recommend.

• Edit * If you’re going to cite Illinois law, at least be accurate. Illinois does allow piercings for minors with a parent or legal guardian present and proper consent. Nowhere in the law does it require a “textured” notary stamp that’s your shop’s personal policy, not the law. A digital Texas document is legally binding everywhere. Thank you. First, you blamed Illinois law. Now it’s “my shop, my rules.” So which is it the law, or your ego? You clearly didn’t know the actual legal requirements, got called out, and now you’re throwing a tantrum over a $20 piercing you claim you “don’t care about” yet you keep responding like it deeply bothers you. Had an appointment for Sunday 2:00 recieved phone call saying the owner is running late can we do it on Monday at 5:00 said sure why not, i get there hr acted so surprised too see me, i told him we had an appointment at 5:00 then the owner said let me see what i can do waitrd about 10 min he said come back at 8:00 kool no problem, again recieved phone call 30 mins before saying again he is behind. So i just went got my money back cleared two days of my time and he is very unprofessional. Yes the place is clean and nice,owener seemed kool but very unorganized. I got most of my work in Cali where its mainly black so i wanted too switch it up some add color, take in mind im all coved legs,arms,chest,back every where, i was about too sprnd well over $5,000 on color plus add a few spots, so for him putting on a small tattoo on someone taking maybe $100.00 $200.00 he just lost well over $5,000 how dumb can an owner be wow,thats why he was late on me for being greedy. Im a business owner own several hand car washes i keep my word no matter how much money is involved. Take care all your customers make them all happy you never know who walks in your front door, oh and by tbe way I'm an actor been in over 50 movies, bro you just screwed your self out of thousands compsired to hundreds. Today marks the 4th time I have visited this shop. I have ALWAYS been treated fairly and with the utmost respect. Their artistry and professionalism is 2nd to none. Speaking of professionalism, while I was there for my appointment, a young lady came into the shop for a piercing. She experienced trouble with the QR scan code. The employee helping her TRIED to help. She started getting belligerent with the employee. He directed her to the owner, without any apparent success to her issue. She immediately went out to her car and posted a very negative review and called back to further complain. Again, Kidd Joe tried to resolve her issue unsuccessfully. After the third call, that's when Kidd had to put an end to the harassment and flat out said he didn't want her business and told her not to call back. At no time was he, his employees or customers being disrespectful or racist. I want to clarify I have not been paid to say this. I was a bystander, and if this was MY shop it would have ended with the cops being called. I travel an hour to get here because of the cleanliness, the camaraderie, aattention to detail and professionalism. This shop did nothing to deserve this negativity. I fully support their actions.
