I live near the Aldi on S. Hurstbourne Pkwy. I head there with my grocery list and buy what is available, usually 90% of my list. I have been shopping at this Aldi for over a year now and have only been disappointed once in anything I have bought. That was a blender that I was going to use to make fruit slushies. Brought it home from the store and let it sit around the house, still in the manufacturer’s box, forgetting I even had it, for several months.
Eventually II opened the box and began trying to assemble it according to the Instructions. No luck. I got it together but it wouldn’t run. Had my husband try; same result.
Although I knew it was a longshot after all these months, I mentioned it to a store employee recently when I was in there shopping. Fully expected him to say that I had waited too long.
I was stunned when instead, he said “As long as you have your receipt you can bring it back anytime.” That is some very fine customer service! It made me feel like I was an appreciated customer!
I look at fruit and vegetables carefully at all groceries before putting them in my cart and I’ve never been disappointed at Aldi. From the meat department, I buy mostly chicken, pork, and seafood.. All if it has always been excellent. The biggest chicken breasts I have ever seen!
Because it is not a huge store, Aldi simply cannot stock everything a Kroger, Meijer, or Walmart does. So I do have to follow up getting 10-15 items from one of the big grocery stores, which I order online and my husband picks up. I should mention here that you can also order and pick up at Aldi.
I have not said nearly enough about how good the food items from Aldi are. I am reluctant to mention how delicious the reduced-sugar peach ice cream I bought a week ago was. And again this week. Honestly, the best I have ever had. My husband agreed. And like everything else in the store, very reasonably priced.
Aldi stands out with their fresh fruit and vegetables, huge cheese selection, and baked goods. The end of year holidays are a lot of fun there, as they have many special food items imported from Germany during that time. My husband is a fan of their stollen, among other things.
Please be assured you will not have to stand in line to check out any longer than necessary. Every single one of the checkout clerks moves so fast, you can barely see their hands! But like every other employee, extremely helpful and well mannered.
I had no idea when Aldie first came to town that I would like it as much as I do. And I can’t tell you all all the reasons I like it in this short space. I haven’t even mentioned how great their prices are. You simply have to shop at Aldi a few times yourself and see what you think! It is a little bit different kind of store. You should ...
Read moreIt was the first time me and my husband stopped by to pick up a few things. Customer service cashier lady up front at night was the only one open and her tone of voice was snobby. Very unwelcoming. Unfortunately due to bad experience with her we will not be coming back. If all you are doing are scanning groceries and putting in the cart. We will not wait for you to scan all our stuff before we bag it. We only bought a few things that fit one bag so had started bagging while she scanned. She had told us "Can you not bag anything until I'm done scanning everything". It's a waste of time to do that when there are many ppl in line. We didn't need a cart. In other grocery stores cashiers are happy to let us bag our items while they scan. I'm not understanding how it's such a big deal that we were willing to bag our items right then and there. We didn't even complain about it we were happy to do it, it's Aldis. We weren't in her way. Made sure nothing was being grabbed from her hands directly lol. We'd rather go to the Middletown location instead if we had no choice but to go to an Aldi next time in this area. The best experience was in the outer loop location, the gentleman on the register bagged people's items in their bags willingly while having nice conversations with a FRIENDLY tone of voice with everyone. He didn't even ask, he just did it, and showed helpfulness and above n beyond customer service. This was when we had the awful winter storm too and he was a positive light that day. Lady at the hurstbourne location on a normal day not so friendly at all. May happiness...
Read moreAldi's is a discount grocery that's small as grocers go these days, but it has all the basics. Mostly they carry their own or other discount brands, but so far I've liked everything I've tried. Their choice is relatively small, but there are bargains to be had. For example a cereal I pay $1.99 for at one of the major discount places I paid $1.29 for here. 1/2 gal milk was $.59 today, gallon $.99. Similar discounts are all over the store. A few items are priced close to their competition's prices (brioche bread for example) but most are much less expensive. Be sure to check out the Aldi's Finds. You'll know them from labels on shelves & they have an entire freezer section filled with them. These are items they don't usually carry but got a good deal on the price. They tell you on the freezer: here today, gone tomorrow. Tonight I found firecracker shrimp for $2 less per package than the big stores. Again, I've seldom bought anything that wasn't good. You probably can't do all your shopping here, but this is the place to go first to make your grocery dollars go...
