I usually enjoy my visits to this Goodwill but today we had the absolute worst experience! It didn’t start that way! The color of the week was blue and usually we don’t find tons of things that are the lucky color. Today we found TONS! Lots of it wasn’t our size but we’ve got a big family, lots of friends, and always someone in need. So most anything that was blue and in decent shape, we threw in the cart. At checkout, the woman (who wasn’t checking us out mind you) made it her business to pretend to help to get the hangers off the clothing and then grabbed each blue tag to ensure they were attached snuggly as if we had tagged them ourselves or something! It was extremely uncomfortable and my excitement was immediately shattered due to her actions! I mean, do you really think I changed tags? Brought my own tags and an attachment tool thingy to do it myself?! We don’t HAVE to shop here but we CHOOSE to because I mean why not?! It’s for a good cause! But with the recent price increases, we’ve not been going as often as we used to but still enjoy patronizing the place often. This experience along with the price increases has made me truly reconsider! Once I told her how her checking them was unnecessary she proceeded to tell me they do it to all tags and all people! And I called her out and told her it’s not true because we go to goodwill weekly and have NEVER had that happen and the 4 people you checked out prior didn’t have tag checks either! Don’t offer special colors at a certain price if you don’t want customers to actually take advantage of said discounts! That’s it! And please don’t respond with the same generic nonsense response I see on all the reviews below mine! I know what the Goodwill mission is and what the program is about.. which I why I started shopping here but I’m truly reconsidering that now! Well, at least this...
Read moreVery disappointed by this Goodwill location. I rely on Goodwill almost exclusively for buying clothes and I am a regular customer. I went to the Goodwill on Hurstbourne Lane in Louisville and purchased a few items. The cashier rang us up and my total came to $27.71, but the card reader was not working. The cashier said that it had been a problem all day so we waited patiently while she tried to fix it, and even tried other cards. Nothing worked, so she eventually moved us to a different register. The cashier at the next register rang up our items, and the total was nearly $34! I questioned why this was, and was told the first cashier has rung up the items incorrectly. I requested to see the manager and asked if she could honor the previous price as it was their mistake and because we had waited and had to be moved to a different register, and she said no.
Honestly, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and made me hesitant to ever visit that location again. I feel that either the cashiers need better training to prevent this from happening, or the manager should've honored the price. It's not fair for my purchase to be one price at one register and then increase in price at...
Read moreBad experience, prices high. Girl at register stated they weigh the silver and price it at market value. One small bowl $120.00. Girl at register with long hair is super rude as well. Will not go back. There are 5 stores way better than this one. Spoke to manager, he stated he marks prices high but will lower if it sits to support his team. What about supporting your customers so you actually have a team? Nobody wants to see prices like that at a goodwill and then experience rudeness. The assistant manager was checking me out and apologized for the other girls rudeness. She was visually uncomfortable during the exchange of words with rude cashier. I hope she had a talk with her when we exited. Geez Question for manager. Do you raise prices so high that people eventually stop coming or do you price right for all so the customers feel like they are getting a deal so they will keep coming back. You guys always ask your customers to “round up” now. This happens at every goodwill. Other goodwills in the area are very fair pricing. GREED is not a good look. I’m new to the area as well so I called a friend and they stated they no longer go into this gw. I see why...
