We went here on a Saturday night at 6 with reservations. When we arrived 5 minutes before our reservation, we were told it would be an additional 20 minute wait. However they weren't that busy. We waited by the bar for 25 minutes only to be sat at the high bar top that had been sitting empty since we arrived. Once sat, we waited an additional 15 minutes before I got up & approached the hostess to ask if we have a server. An additional 8 minutes go by before a server greets us. At this time it's 6:45. I had plans to order the filet & bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. However, since I spent 45 minutes waiting, I didn't have time for that. So I ordered bang bang shrimp tacos. The quantity of shrimp was impressive but was also cold. I told our server & she said, well, the shrimp don't heat back up very well. I told her I wasn't asking for re-heat instructions, but asking for my food to be served hot. Apparently she thought I was joking & laughed as she walked away. Long story short, I saw my server 3 times, to place the order, she delivered our food then dropped off the check. Total stay in this restaurant was 2 hours for something that shouldn't have taken 30 -45 minutes.
Plus on top of that, as we were waiting, a server was talking to this older asain lady who couldn't speak very well English. They even had a translator app on their iPad trying to communicate. The server had lost her patience trying to help, but was being rude & very animated about the situation. I started recording as she was blowing up towards the end & she just leaves the lady & eventually someone else comes to help her. That server should not be helping people, especially older people & most certainly people who have English as not their first language. Her actions alone made my stomach turn at how she was treating this lady.
UPDATE: 11/28/22. The GM reached out to me apologizing for everything. Was embarrassed by the way the server treated the Asian lady & by the experience I had overall. He said he would have a talk & more training with the rude server. Also included a $25 gift card to come back & try at a better experience. I've been coming here for over a decade & I will probably eventually go back. After all, I do have the gift card to use. I will update...
Read moreWe sat down at the bar where two empty seats were available. There were dirty dishes and placemats sitting there (lucky to grab those seats!) The bartender walked by us for 13 minutes and ignored us and the dirty dishes as we sat there. There was an empty seat next to us when a gentleman came up and sat down. Never once had we been acknowledged or welcomed or said anything like “hello I’ll be right with you” nothing! The bartender looks at the new guy that sits down and says “hey how’s it going?” So that now leads us to ask for the area to be cleared. The bartender says “yep, I’ll get to it.” The bartender walks away and starts moving little fruit bowls around behind the counter and doing menial tasks. He had nothing better to do but ignore us. I then went to the hostess stand and asked if we could be seated at one of the 5 tables open in the bar area. I was snapped at and told all the tables had a reservation. The bartender proceeded to go down the line of the bar, took drink orders and made more drinks for people down the bar and continued to ignore us and the guy next to us, which eventually left (no service) What!? Finally, the bartender comes back, clears the dishes and asks if we would like a drink. We order drinks and have to ask for the bar area to be wiped off from the previous diners, and put clean placements down. He didn’t want to replace the dirty placemats so I push those away from us to make a point. We get our drinks and we get our order placed. When we left at 6:30, 3 of the bar tables had never been sat. Service never got any better. When our food came I was shocked! I ordered the Seabass that is supposed to be 7 ounces for $38.” What I was served was a 2 ounce piece of Seabass I spoke to the manager who looked at my piece of fish and said “well I’ll take that off your bill and I’m not going to argue with you!” WTH!? That wasn’t the point! They are not serving the correct portions that they’re offering. I wasn’t looking for an argument! This is not the same Bonefish that used to be in Louisville or anywhere else. If this is what they have turned into do not waste your money or your time! Really bad ! Happy...

From the moment we were seated, the experience was exceptional. Sydney delivered the kind of service you hope for but rarely receive—warm, attentive, and perfectly paced. He anticipated needs without interrupting conversation, checked in at the right moments, and made sure our table had everything we needed. He truly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy.
The food was outstanding—served hot, succulent, and well-seasoned, with each dish prepared with care. Portions were generous without sacrificing quality, and everything arrived promptly and at the proper temperature, which tells me the kitchen and floor staff were communicating well.
A special shout-out to Manager Jeremy, whose hospitality stood out. He stopped by to welcome us, engaged with us thoughtfully, and even took our photo, which was a memorable touch. His presence on the floor clearly elevates the guest experience—he’s the kind of manager who sets a positive tone for the entire team. Truly, one of the best managers I’ve encountered.
Highlights: • Attentive, professional service by Sydney (request him if you can) • Succulent, flavorful food delivered at the right temperature • Smooth pacing from appetizers to mains, with excellent timing • Jeremy’s leadership and guest engagement made the night feel special • Clean, comfortable dining room and overall great value
Bottom line: A five-star experience. If you’re in Louisville and want excellent seafood with genuine hospitality, Bonefish Grill is an easy recommendation. We’ll be back—and we’ll be...
