This place used to have a great selection and offered more money for items you were selling but I couldn't believe my eyes this time around. I'll never go back! I brought in 5 full trash bags of nice items, some name brand, Zero stains, rips etc. When they offered me a few bucks I figured they had only taken an item or 2(which was ridiculous considering the quality) but when I went to pick up what was leftover, half of it was gone. They took many items and gave me almost no money. On top of that, I took 4 people shopping there and only 1 was able to find 2 okay items, which costed over $20. Not only was their selection atrocious(I regret not taking pictures bc it was really that bad), but many items had stains and holes in them too, and many shoes were muddy, dirty and worn out. I brought in multiple pairs of brand new, brand name jeans, some with tags and they didn't take them...but they'll take stained, ripped, horribly ugly and uncomfortable items that nobody even wears or wants?! Clearly the staff has changed since the last time we went in and got 30+ quality items at a good price. I used to love this place but it has recently become worse than any thrift store I've ever been to. The ugliness of their selection was truly legendary and 1 star is far too generous. I really regret wasting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really like shopping here, but I just feel disappointed in their second hand buying. I used to be able to bring in a box of clothes (not overly worn at all) and get decent cash back. Now theyāve gotten a little pickier but then I walked around the store and see shoes with toes prints and dirt but a shirt with tags still on it they wonāt take š¤·š¼āāļø even brought in some jeans I KNOW I wore maybe twice and could tell you those times. I think there should be someone checking the clothes that knows the trends right now. I brought in many brand new crop tops and brand new Maurice jeans which they said they could only take a few pieces and offer a whole $5. Then asked if I wanted to take my stuff back or donate. I donated but I honestly kicked myself for this decision as I feel they will end up putting the "donated stuff" on the shelves to sell which if that is what they do, I'd be very upset as your willing to sell it but not willing to give me a little for it. I don't know what donate technically means when they ask but they should elaborate as to what they will do with the items if donated. I've found great deals at this store but the selling to it makes me feel like Plato's closet where they buy more not great stuff and don't buy stuff that's brand new and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an absolutely wonderful experience the first time I came to Owls Nest. I bought a ton of stuff for my grandchildren. Was greeted when I came in. Shown things. The staff was kind, attentive and wonderful. I couldn't stop talking about it to my daughter, tge mother of my grandchildren. Today, I took her and was so so disappointed. They were not busy. No greeting. No help. All staff seemed uninterested. When I had gone first time, I was offered a card to "punch" for purchases. They took my email. My daughter was offered nothing. The young girl checking us out had no idea. Had to keep asking someone else on pricing. Knew nothing about a coupon my daughter had received and she wasn't allowed to use it because it was only for one day which we didn't see that anywhere. The girl that told us that and informed the other girl of pricing was NOT very friendly. I was not only disappointed but embarrassed that I had built everything up so much to my daughter. My daughter liked the pricing but to be honest, I don't know that I'll ever go back. And their supply of baby furniture and a few other things were zero compared to my first visit....
