The Cosmetics Company Store — Local services in Johnson Creek

Today I had a disappointing experience at this store due to the unfair treatment and what seemed to be racial bias from the store manager, a woman with black frame glasses. There was a Black Friday promotion: get a $25 gift card for a later use with a $150+ purchase. My friends and I purchased a lot and got multiple gift cards. However, upon returning to the store to redeem our gift cards today, the manager imposed unexpected restrictions, claiming that we could only use one gift card per person per transaction per day. This directly contradicted what we were told on Black Friday and was not outlined in the gift card description. Seeking clarification, I asked the manager to provide documentation supporting this new rule, but she refused. Living a considerable distance away and unable to return to the store on another day, I asked a kind lady to make a purchase for me using a different gift card. Shockingly, the store manager tried to prevent this, seemingly more interested in obstructing my purchase than finding a reasonable solution.

What deeply concerns me is the apparent discriminatory behavior exhibited by the store manager. Both my friend and I are of Asian descent, and her actions seemed to be influenced by racial bias. This entire experience has left me questioning the integrity of the store's customer service and the fairness with which customers are treated. I went in knowing what i wanted with the express intention of spending money. I waited for several minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence. So not only was i ignored by all 3 staff - and what i wanted was right by the check out - it was apparently lunch time and that was more important than helping a paying customer. 2 staff members walked right past me while the 3rd made a bee line to eat lunch. Customer service sucks be sure to check your purchases before you leave get all the way home to discover that you didn't receive the product that u asked for not to mention I live more than 40min away. Also if your black/ African American they assume your stealing and barely speak to you when there unhelpful and very unfriendly makes for a very awkward shopping experience.
