I have NEVER had bad service at Pine Cone until today......the waitress was just rude from the start. Loud, obnoxious. We ordered our drinks and she disappeared. 20 minutes later, we got drinks and she took our order. 20 minutes later we FINALLY got soup. It took over 40 minutes to get our food and most of the food for my party of 7 was cold or Luke warm.....the waitress disappeared. A second waitress was one who delivered most of our food and then SLAPPED the checks on the table and also disappeared. We were NEVER offered water or coffee refills. Never asked how our food was. We didn't complain about the wait. Incredible enough but both waitresses had ZERO problem taking care of tables around us and returning to check on them! WHAT THE HELL!!!

It was not NEAR as busy as it usually is on a Saturday at 2 pm when we walked in. We were seated within 10 minutes. There were empty spaces in the dining room.

I have gone to Pine Cone for over a decade. It's a central meeting point to meet family for lunch, a talk and a trade off of items. I have NEVER had an experience like this today!!

Upon talking to the manager on duty, a thin blond girl, she just nodded and apologized. We spent over $ 100 on food for our party PLUS purchased bakery at the counter and didn't even get 10% off for the waitress problem we addressed and the Luke warm food!!

We were polite and patient with the first waitress. We also work in customer service areas and understand busy, understaffed and all that entails. Her attitude from the get go was just rude. Snappy. As if someone else had peeved her off and she was taking it out on us because they sat us in her section. Seemed like she relayed her problem to the next shift and that was the one who slapped the checks on the table and abruptly left. No words spoken. No thank you said. Not even a grunt. WE said thanks for the checks and we're never acknowledged.

I'm sorry someone messed up her day but in customer service, you turn a blind eye and go on. If she's not happy with her job then she sure needs to find another! Her poor attitude will drive some customers out for good. Will we return? I'm not sure......if I were her manager, there would be words. As a store manager for 15 years, I would never tolerate my customers being spoken to in her tone whether they were right or wrong. As people working in the customer service industry, containing your attitude is the most important. When you leave the table, you mumble all kinds of words under your breath, take a breath and try and be the bigger person. Not this one. Nor her compadre she set up to NOT be left a tip! I refused to leave them a dime since neither could ask if anyone in our party wanted their water refilled.

Needless to say, they got our $$ donation anyway, as we left quite a bit of uneaten food....chewy cold fries that came directly from the kitchen were never...

Wow, what a find for a truck driver or traveler. If you live locally you have probably already been here, and I’m not sharing a anything new.

I ordered the fried walleye and shrimp dinner. The shrimp was tasty but otherwise basic fried shrimp, but for a couple dollars for 12 it’s a great add on.

The walleye is really good and served in 8 oz portions. Let’s talk about portion size for a quick second, everything here is super sized.

My dinner was paired with a salad (basic but fresh) and a dinner roll bigger than my fist served hot. It had a slight sweetness and with some butter was really good.

I can eat quite a bit, but was only able to finish half or less of the French fries that came served on its own plate.

For $21 I got more than enough good high quality freshly made food.

There are daily specials to choose from. From where I was sitting, everything coming out of the kitchen looked like something I would consider ordering in a future visit.

When you get up to leave, you will have your chance to go through the bakery line.

It’s a great selection and worth stopping for if you aren’t ready for a full meal.

Cookies are the size of your hand fully spread, I would guess a full 8 inches in diameter and most of them are just $1.75 each.

The eclairs and cream puffs looked amazing and were equally super sized. Enough to share with at least one other person.

The service was friendly and efficient, even though the restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon.

But wait there is more. Make sure to check out the convenience store attached for more desserts, snacks, drinks. souvenirs, cured meats and cheeses.

There is truly something for everyone at this travel center.

Truck drivers get there early. There are quite a few places to park, but there is also an outlet center next door too.

There wasn’t a huge selection of stores but the Nike store had some really good items at great prices.

This is a place I would come too every time I...

Wonderful little diner with friendly staff and a splendid bakery.

I was passing through Johnson Creek and read the reviews for this place. I am normally not a huge fan of Diners. As it seems as though if you have been to one, then you have been too them all. However this diner was a bit of a standout. I ordered the special of the day which happened to be a turkey dinner.

The turkey itself was moist and juicy, which was probably helped by the fact that it was smothered in gravy. The mashed potatoes and gravy was, well simply mashed potatoes and gravy. Nothing overly special.

However the restaurant really shined when it came too the soup and sides. The turkey dinner came with the soup of the day, which was chicken and dumpling. The chicken and dumpling soup was very good and had a wonderful flavor accompanied by large, moist, wholesome dumplings. The only real downside was the lack of chicken. The soup definitely needed more chicken, however the flavor was excellent.

Another standout was the coleslaw. The coleslaw had a sweet flavor along with a unique sort of lemony bite. I enjoyed it quite well. On top of this the meal also came with a homemade dinner roll. The dinner roll was huge! About the size of a soft ball and not to mention that the dinner roll was fresh out the oven! It was warm, soft, and just melted in your mouth!

While waiting for my food, I went and ordered an appetizer of deep fried mushrooms. These too were awesome! The mushrooms were fresh and full of flavor!

I didn't get a chance to try their bakery items, but they looked great! There was a large line of people just waiting too buy bakery items, so I am assuming they must be good.

One more plus to this restaurant is the fact that it is a truck stop. Therefore there is plenty of room to park and rest for a while if you happen to be on a...
