LaPortas is no longer owned by the family. It has been sold to two men from out of town who look down on the patrons of Johnstown as inconsequential and inferior. One had the nerve to tell me that," people from Johnstown need to get a grip on the price of flowers because no one grows them in America any more and the price of shipping and gas etc. have to be covered." and their minimal arrangement starts at 65! This after I questioned him about the price of two very small arrangements. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere and the price was half what LaPorta's quoted me and I did not have to have the sales person look down on me as a person from Johnstown! Stay away from this business, they are not the true spirit of a hometown business as their predecessor was. I was a 15 year customer. Not any more. My friend who had a similar experience was a third generation customer. Not any more. Johnstown consumers stick with the real home town...

Placed an order through eleflora expecting a beautiful all rose bouquet only to get the equivalent of what would be in a $15 bouquet from a grocery store. When reaching out to the store I was met with a very angry person making excuses for the disappointment for what was recieved. No apology or acknowledgement of my concerns or frustration. Yes, you can't please everyone however taking constructive criticism and being apologetic goes a long way. The lack of that alone is reason enough to take your business elsewhere.

I was very disappointed in their service today. It was my grandaughters college graduation.I called this morning stating the college mail room was closed on Saturdays and they had an order to deliver to her. I was told they could deliver directly to her dorm and it would be there around 10:30. I explained the students would have to leave their dorms at noon for graduation so please make sure if got there around 10:30 as they said they would because we were from out of town and would be gone when graduation was over. Turns out they didn't deliver until 12:15, which obviously meant she wouldn't be there. So, she never received her flowers on this special day. EXTREMELY UPSET they didn't do as indicated. Will...
