Lambcakes Bakery — Restaurant in Johnstown

The woman at the front counter is rude and acts as though she’s doing you a favor by selling you items. I really want to love this place based on all of the positive reviews, but it’s difficult when I have tried to place orders for cakes on 2 separate occasions only to be told that they’re booked. The website states that a one week notice be given to order a cake but both times I’ve attempted to order I’ve called 3-4 weeks in advance. Maybe it’s just me but shouldn’t more details be asked about an order before outright denying it? All I asked was to place an order and give the date but the woman at the counter immediately says that they’re booked. I know I’m not the only person who has experienced this. It’s unfortunate for the owner, who seems to be very passionate about his business, to lose customers due to this ongoing issue. I understand this happening occasionally but what are the odds it’s happened to me twice and to friends and family of mine on multiple occasions? Seriously how far in advance do you need to call to order...

Lambcakes has some truly talented people. Just browse the gallery on their website of some of the cakes they have produced and you will see what I mean. When ordering a cake for my father's birthday I gave them two photos of his classic cars and Lambcakes knocked the design and execution out of the park and all for a reasonable price. This bakery, its owner, and employees are incredible. I've been to the famous Carlo's Bakery (Cake Boss) in Hoboken. No need to travel that far for truly artistic and beautiful delicious cakes and cookies. We have a better establishment in our backyard. Amazing work Lambcakes!

I have tasted several items from this shop. The cakes were delicious. The sugar cookies were mediocre, need something more to them (sugar!) Now I just had a gob from the gob competition at the galleria. The cake part of the gob was great. But the icing was almost non existent. It was supposed to be peanut butter flavored. I took a bite but tasted not a single hint of peanut butter. Please add more icing in the future, I promise it will be good for the business. The cakes you are doing awesome. Improve the sugar cookies and add icing to the gobs and you...
