“Whether you are just beginning your D&D journey or are a seasoned veteran; Adventurers League is for you!!”
Well…that didn’t age well…and frankly, it’s false advertising, isn’t it? I copied that quote above straight off your event listing in FB. So, not only did I call earlier in the week to ask about this event, I was told by the employee who answered the phone it was for players of all ability levels. I asked if I needed to purchase anything in advance. I was told no. Just show up. It’s a good time. But that’s not what happened, is it?. Being new to the area…I was looking for something fun…maybe meet some friendly people…hang out…you know…interact with other humans. Isn’t that what you’re promoting? Tabletop games? So when my daughter and I, show up, they happily take our money and point us to the tables. There were a couple of empty tables, but a good turnout. One guy was just rude at one table. The other people were literally like the children on the bus in the Forrest Gump movie…” can’t sit here!” And “this seat is taken”. And I’m not sure if it was the owner or manager, but he and his sidekick come over and pulls out his phone and says well you can do this online and gave me some address. Um…tabletop games…right? If I wanted to sit at home and play on my phone…I would have done that. Frankly the entire experience was insulting. These weren’t friendly people and if 1 star is essentially zero, then I gave two because that manager/owner guy at least had the sense to be embarrassed. Yesterday was payday and hobbies are expensive. I came with cash because I expected I’d be spending some money to invest in a hobby. This is not a welcoming business. They don’t mean players of all ability levels. They allowed other customers to be rude and they weren’t inclusive at all. 0 out of 10. Do not recommend. I’ll give my money to Jeff Bezos instead of supporting this small business. It was just trashy all...
Read moreWell i went in there Thursday evening with some pretty darn good cards that I've had since I was a kid, I mean we talking 25 years maybe a little longer, they never been used looked brand new That guy couldn't keep saying how good the cards look that nobody has ever came in there with cards that old looking that good, I told the guy that I had no idea what anything was worth and just wanted to see what I had going on and gave him my book to look over my cards and I'd say he picked out the best 12 that he wanted and told me 200, said That's all their worth....now keep in mind I went in clueless and I told the guy that thinking he would treat me right and darn it he took advantage of me, when I got home I started looking up the value of the ones he took and he did me pretty damn dirty.... I Started to go back up there and see if he would take his money back and just give me my cards back, but I figured he would just give me a hard time so I didn't mess with it. But I was totally taking advantage of and I guess you can say it's my fault for going in clueless. But I told him up front....so here's a few of the ones he took that I had pictures of and I'm mad that I even had a few of the ones he took because when i seen the values of some of the cards I got really aggravated that he would take advantage of somebody who has took really care of them cards for all them years and like I said I was very up front with the man!!!!!! I hope the owners sees this post and tries to make it right with me if he could or just give them back but we will see.... But was highly taken advantage of!!!! They was all holographic also,...
Read moreWent in twice in the past year, both times I was ignored completely and felt like I wasn't wanted there even with many people there playing card and board games and chatting about. When you're in the store it feels like you're an outcast unless you're already part of some "in-group" or in the know with employees there. I didn't get any acknowledgements the whole time looking around other than dubious looks/stares. When I purchased a storage box sitting next to the counter I was told by the person manning the register that if "I wanted to buy it then go over and get it and bring it here." ...Sorry ...but ...nobody deserves to be treated unprofessionally and unfriendly like that. What's the point of having a game/card store if you dislike players/people coming in and being in the moment/environment? Instead of being treated like I have a plague I would rather be treated as a player or at the very least a customer towards what your selling as I would have RATHER liked to spend money on some cards or games in your inventory or get invited to store events and etc. Been several months since the last visit and had to time reflect on this review. May go back and give this place one more shot. Hopefully better people or better moods...
