We visited this place as we are huge fans of Louisiana style food but this place was a great disappointment. Had ordered spicy shrimp and gumbo as an appetizer. The shrimp were smeared with a buttery Cajun sauce which was delicious. The portion size was okay. It was accompanied by a small piece of bread. The gumbo was okay not authentic but the taste was fine. For the main course we ordered crawfish etouffee which was a disaster. It was a huge plate of sticky rice which was chunky and bland, not enough seasoning and the crawfish were barely there. I couldn't eat more than 2 spoonfuls. Absolutely terrible. The crawfish etouffee we had in new Orleans was delicious and this was no where near it. The restaurant seating was not good, the waitress took away our forks and forgot to get us some new ones. We were left sitting till our food went cold. There were flies and the overall experience was...
Read moreBest gumbo I ever had! Multi-layered flavors, homemade taste. Cup serving size was as big as a bowl!
Boudin was yummy but others might prefer spicier so use the hot sauce and Cajun seasoning that's right at your table! Plenty of Crawfish in creamy etoufee. I liked that I could actually taste the okra in the crisp fried okra. Well-seasoned, crunchy breading on the fried pickles spears. Hard to do with juicy pickles! Friends enjoyed the fried catfish. Thick bread with po' boy sandwich. I liked the tartar sauce & cajun ranch dip.
Casual dine-in spot. Pool table. Looked like it would be a fun bar at night. We sat at a booth. Great service! Will be back for the buffet so I can sample more! Lunch 07-14-2022.
I called them twice around the lunch hour and both times the phone was answered promptly & they were patient with my long, rambling questions!...
Read moreMy lady friend had the etouffee. Which was mostly grits and rice and she said that it did not taste good. I had some special platter of sea food. The crawfish, which was the majority of the food on the platter was okay. I've had better. The crab legs were nothing special. The shrimp were rubbery. The waitress mentioned potatoes and corn, which we never saw. We also got the sampler appetizer, which was nothing of the sort. The breading came off of the frog legs, which left a slimy mess. The fried pickles were laughable. They were just breaded fried cheap dill pickle wedges that tasted like I poured a container of dill on my face. The boudin tasted frozen and was bland. Almost like cardboard. I've had frozen pot pies that tasted better than the meat pies. We were extremely underwhelmed for the $85 that we spent. We won't...
