We (party of 2) had only visited K-Pot once in the past, in which case our daughter ate and my husband was a little hesitant due to a major list of allergies. He was there to enjoy the experience with our daughter. We met Victoria (Dining Specialist) on our first visit, and she created an extremely positive atmosphere and greatly explained all of the ways K-Pot of Jonesboro could meet the needs of our allergy restrictions. In the end, we had a great time and made the decision to try it as a family for my daughter's birthday on June 14th.
On this occasion, we brought a party of 5, including my husband, who has an extensive list of food allergies. Victoria was working again, and met us with a smile, servant's heart, and wonderful personality. We were seated promptly and met Josh, our waiter. Josh was a great listener, and you could tell, given the detailed explanations he would provide for any questions you had. We mentioned my husband's food allergies, and he immediately pulled out a pen and pad to record every one of them. He took this responsibility extremely serious, as he talked with the chef's, double-checked all ingredients for the ENTIRE food list, and ensured no cross-contamination of food during our visit. Josh was nothing short of amazing!
K-Pot is not just a meal, but a true dining experience. Sure, you cook your own food, but it is so much fun! We spent the better part of two hours visiting, eating, and trying all sorts of different meats and vegetables at our table. We chose the soup based meal style, but there is also a grill option. You can even opt for both if you like! The food was all-you-can-eat and no limit on the different types of foods you could try. The list was VERY extensive and we found SO MANY options my husband could have as well. The meats were very tender and thinly sliced to perfection. While the food was excellent beyond measure, it is hard to say that was any better than the service we received, because it was equally amazing!
The kids had a great time. It was my daughter's birthday and she brought a friend who was pretty reluctant at first to try anything. She was more of a chicken strip girl. Turns out, she loved her experience enough that she went back with her grandparents within the next week. Victoria and Josh visited our table very frequently. Josh was consistently checking up on us and making sure things were not just satisfactory, but beyond expectations. Victoria was very personable, interacting with the kids, making sure the birthday girl was sang to and provided cheesecake, and striking up conversation as if we had all known each other for years.
Today, we will be going back for my husband's birthday. In the two years since discovering his allergies, never would I have though that he would have had such trust in a restaurant as he has in K-Pot. He is excited to go out, with no fear of his food allergies being a hinderance. In fact, he has been talking about it for a week now! Josh and Victoria, thank you so much for such a great dining experience that made this family have a clear-cut favorite for BEST restaurant in...
Read moreUnacceptable Service and Horrendous Management - Avoid KPOT at All Costs
I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at KPOT has compelled me to share my deeply troubling encounter. I visited KPOT with high hopes, only to be met with a series of appalling practices that left me both outraged and disheartened. Here’s a comprehensive account of the nightmare that unfolded:
Unjust Firing of a Dedicated Server: On my visit, I witnessed an extremely distressing event: a truly exceptional server was terminated on the spot for what KPOT deemed an unsatisfactory table bussing job. This server had provided outstanding service throughout the evening, yet she was dismissed over a minor issue that could have been addressed with training or a warning. It was clear that the management’s decision was neither fair nor justified.
Disgusting Fat-Shaming Practices: To my shock, KPOT’s management and staff exhibited behavior that can only be described as blatant fat-shaming. I observed staff making derogatory comments about the weight of both customers and fellow employees. This kind of unacceptable behavior creates a toxic and hostile environment that is not only unprofessional but deeply damaging to all who experience it.
Unsanitary and Unethical Practices: Perhaps the most egregious offense was the manager’s directive to reuse a bowl of soup that had already been eaten from by another customer. This is a clear violation of health standards and shows a disturbing disregard for hygiene. The thought of someone else consuming that soup is both revolting and concerning from a public health perspective.
General Disregard for Customer and Employee Welfare: Beyond the specific issues mentioned, it’s evident that KPOT operates with a troubling lack of respect for both its customers and employees. The lack of empathy, poor management decisions, and disregard for basic decency and hygiene are symptomatic of a deeper systemic problem within the establishment.
In conclusion, my experience at KPOT was nothing short of a disaster. The combination of unfair employment practices, harmful behavior towards individuals, and unsanitary conditions make this restaurant a place to avoid at all costs. I urge potential diners to think twice before supporting this establishment and consider the broader implications of the issues I’ve outlined. This restaurant is a glaring example of what happens when poor management and unethical practices go unchecked. Save yourself the trouble and seek out a dining experience where respect, cleanliness, and fairness are...
Read moreVisited this Korean hotpot restaurant for lunch and was not disappointed. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet where you cook your own food. There are lunch specials Monday through Friday that don't include as many options but on weekends dinner is all day. The price as of this writing is $19.99 for lunch and $29.99 for dinner for hotpot or barbecue. For an extra $5 charge you can do both hotpot (cook your foods in a boiling stock) and barbecue (cook your foods on a hot grill). I would recommend both for your first visit.
The server we had was great. She explained everything to us and how everything would work during our stay. You get 2 hours at your table to eat as much as you want but any wasted food is charged at $13.99 per pound at the end. They leave an iPad at your table where you order all of your meats and vegetables. They also have a bar that serves alcohol but we did not order from it. There is also a sauce bar with about 20 different sauces, some desserts, and small foods like fried rice and chicken nuggets. I'd stay away from those foods and concentrate on the barbecue and hotpot foods.
They have a large selection of meats that includes cuts of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and a range of seafood. They had vegetables too although I wish they had a wider range of those offered. If you choose hotpot, there are several broths you get to choose from and you can order as many of those as you want too. Once you order foods, they are delivered quickly and it takes a few minutes to cook as the meats are sliced very thin.
Outside of the vegetables, I wish the ventilation was better as you will leave the restaurant with a strong aroma so I would advise not going before a function or during working hours. Overall, it was a great visit and we will definitely...
