My grandmother planted a seed early in my life, she loved horses and while she didn't ride she was a regular at Oaklawn and even had a lake house in Hot Springs to stay during race season... from as young as I remember the first Saturday of May always brought with it the excitment of a Derby Pary! As early as 6 and 7 I would "bet" with quarters and dollar bills! She even would place bets for me at the track 🤫 with me telling her trifectas and exactas...while carrying my pamphelt on odds! 🤣 After we would use my winnings for a new Beanie Baby! 🤦🏻‍♀️

So horses make me feel close to her. It was our thing. When she passed she gifted me the most beautiful ring, and I was terrified to lose it. Today I picked up a replica I had made to wear daily.
