The Batman was an entertaining movie. My wife and I would have enjoyed it even more if the chairs weren't so uncomfortable. We sat in the center of the theater, row C, seats 7 & 8. I'm 5' 9" and 155 lbs. My wife is about the same. The headrests on these chairs were ridiculous. Even when we reclined all the way back, they still propped our heads up into uncomfortable positions. For 3 hours, my wife and I did everything we could to avoid this forced posture: slumping below the headrest, sitting sideways, positioning our heads between two seats. She was lucky. She managed to maintain her discomfort. Mine got worse. I came out of the movie with a headache that stayed with me for the day.
Everything else about this experience seemed fine, and even rewarding. Friendly staff. Clean place. Clear sound and picture. However, the seating situation is so ridiculous that it's highly unlikely we'll be coming back to this theater, or any in the Malco brand.
Seeing as this is a new building, I cannot help but wonder why these seats weren't tested for audiences. I suspect the purchase of this poorly designed furniture was someone's sweetheart deal, someone with close ties to a building manager's office. Maybe my wife and I are getting carried away with binge-watching The Sopranos, but something certainly feels off here.
Now, if I'm wrong to assume that every theater in this building has these chairs, please let me know. But didn't the other Malco building in Jonesboro have a major renovation in the last 3 years? Weren't these same chairs installed there, as well? I vaguely remember having this issue before, though, thankfully for a much shorter film.
Moviegoers, proceed with caution. If you haven't been to this theater, consider testing the experience with a movie that offers a short running time. Or, you can use the opportunity to leave early from a movie your better half is forcing you to see. There's no better excuse than, "Honey, I'm getting a headache. Let's just stream this...
Read moreThis new Malco is amazing. Every seat is a motorized recliner. I could swear I felt the back of my seat rumble during my movie, when some of the booms hit. The sound system is quite intoxicating! People had entire meals delivered to them in their seats. I couldn't believe it! The meal trays they deliver to you have a little bit protruding from the bottom that fits into the cup holder that's build into your chair. How nice! I happen to see burgers, chicken and shrimp on their menu, among many other selections. One lady had a pizza with her children, in the main lobby, where there's a decent amount of seating for People to sit down and eat before their movie started. There were also 2 police officers present in the main lobby. One odd note to add to this is the parking. Its a little odd at first until you get used to it. Their main parking is off to the side and behind the building on the right as you drive in. But there are also many parking spots along the entrance to the building as well. Please excuse this picture as it was the only one I took and didn't plan on a review of this until after I got home. This was taken right after out movie was done and before their cleaning crew arrived. The entire place...
Read moreNow I must say this movie is very clean my popcorn was old though so they had to give me another batch( too expensive to let it go) so we went to see the new final destination I am 28 lol and me and my boyfriend was ID’d which was a first at any movie to be honest but it was fine we gladly handed over our Id but when we got into the movie there was a child maybe 4 or 5 in there with her mom lol screaming when scary parts came up im thinking how that poor little girl is probably going to have nightmares for the rest of her life of course they were of the opposite race form me. I thought it was kind of weird how a child our be in a rated R movie with guts and brains flying out the whole movie but me almost being 30 but being black we got ID’d. I never said anything to the workers I just thought I would leave a review I probably won’t go back to that one I feel...
