I was very excited to check out the store in order to support and buy locally. In fact, going to Little Sprout's was a form of my self care that day as I was just a couple months post partum and desperately needing some shop therapy and an hour to myself. The shop itself was adorable and I wanted to take my time picking out the perfect outfit for my son. But it was impossible to ignore the insensitive conversation that two staff members had while they stood at opposite ends of the store from each other. The discussion could best be summed up as body shaming. One of the staff members even went as far as to say that when she has kids, she will refuse to "become fat." I felt embarrassed, insecure, and also furious at the insensitivity and naivity of these girls. In the end, I did find an adorable outfit for my son. But due to the experience I had of listening to the judgmental staff, I put the outfit back and walked out the door. My suggestion is that if you're going to work for a children's place, know who your customers are and treat them...

However, Little Sprouts has a terrible return policy. 7 days for returns and 24 hours for cash is ridiculous. You do have up to 30 days to exchange, but if you don't want anything else in the store, you're stuck. Buyer be aware that there is basically no way to return anything purchased from this store (in my experience, people with small children are busy and making it back to the store in 7 days is a stretch, not to mention 24 hours for cash purchases!!!). I thought as a small business they would be at least a little bit flexible, but 32 days later they didn't even offer my husband the exchange offer when he tried to return our (unused, still in package) purchase. It felt like they were more determined to stick to their ridiculous return/exchange policy than retain a customer. It's too bad that we will no longer frequent...

(Not literally but you get the gist) So hereās some backstory; my son (6months) has a VERY bad case of eczema that my wife and I have seen specialist about for months now with no resolve. In looking for other options my fiancĆ© came across bamboo fabric because the clothes we were using had recently caused severe flair ups. This store not only carried what we needed but was even wiling to go the extra mile by staying open later to make sure we had these for our son. Gave detailed information about the clothes and suggested alternative options that we had never heard of amid our long time search for answers. Not even a full 24 hours later and his skin is clearing up, and more then that, heās happy and smiling for the first time in what seemed like eternity. That alone is all a parent could ask for.
