Attended the Catch Me If You Can showing on Aug 10 at 8pm. There was a crazy lightning storm going on and the lights went out several times during the show but the cast and tech crew persisted, continuing the show with grace and humor. "would you pay the electric bill?" absolutely killed. If I could tip the tech crew for managing the lighting and sound when it was all going bananas I would, and the actors didn't even flinch when they had to dance around in the dark at small intervals--very professional and clearly knew what they were doing
First time I've been to the Bigfork Playhouse, Clean facility, friendly and welcoming staff, BEAUTIFUL building. The stain glass lights in the lobby are beautiful. Love the wall of pictures with the seasons cast. Pretty good sized theater for a small place like Bigfork. Will definitely plan on attending again now that I live in the area. Snacks and drinks available in the lobby but you can't take any food in the theater. Good sized bathrooms for men and women. Tech-friendly process, Used the app on my phone to scan the tickets and just had to make sure my screen was bright enough for the scanner to read. Pretty decent prices, about $30 seats, was in row C for this showing. Love this little local theater and I wish they did more...
Read moreIn full disclosure before I review, my daughter is a cast member. We travelled to see her perform in all four shows. My husband and I kept saying to each other after every show "...no one is going to believe us back home when we tell them how absolutely professional and amazing these shows are". Our family has seen a good bit of theatre over the last 5 years (and paid much more for tickets) and are so incredibly impressed with the quality of the Bigfork Summer Playhouse shows that we just saw. The choreography was top-notch! Vocals absolutely stellar! Transitions were seamless. The live musicians were excellent. Also, I am not sure when/if I have ever seen better acting! Drowsy Chaperone was hysterical...the whole audience was laughing most of the time. Joseph was a delight on many levels. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was simply beautiful. Mama Mia was so great that we were still singing the songs in the car on the way home.
I will most certainly follow the careers of many of these actors to watch for their inevitable successes...
Read moreThis is a review about the business itself NOT the acting/plays. As a group of friends we pre-purchased 10 play tickets for the 2021 year. A few days before the first play one of our party had an accident & broke her hip. Not thinking about the play until the day before we attempted to reschedule for a different day. Unfortunately we did not give “enough” notice and our request was denied. 3 tickets gone to waste as there was no one else able to go on short notice. We were told “ no exceptions”. We asked if we could get a refund on the other 6 tickets getting no response. I expected better from a local business ran by Montana natives. People complain about visitors and new residents ruining “the Montana way” but obviously this business does not follow “Montana ways” either. Remember you reap what you sow. Both Alaska airlines and Hotwire refunded nonrefundable reservations but Bigfork Playhouse would not. What a sad depiction of their business ethics. Needless to say we will no longer be supporting this non supportive...
