UPDATE: THEIR RESPONSE SAYS IT ALL + I WENT TO 3 OTHER RESTAURANTS THAT REFILLED CHIPS/PITA/CROSTINIS - IT'S NOT "FREE PRODUCT, IT'S CALLED PORTIONING Great view, decent food, but just like everything in the Flathead, they're stingy. I'll give it to our server (I think) she tried, but someone "in the kitchen" was a Zero-Flexibility protector of the chips. So said person doesn't care about patrons or what you spend - take the menu at face value, and you get what you get. ➡️What started as a joke over a basket of potato chips blew my mind - we were literally bartering with the server over enough KETTLE CHIPS to use the dip that came w/ our order and literally couldn't even get 10 potato chips. 👎🏻Attempt 1: If I order another $14 Alcoholic Cocktail, can I get more chips? "NO." 👎🏻Attempt 2: If I'm buying merch, can I get more chips? "NO." 👎🏻Attempt 3: Then, I buy the merch and it's going to be a 3% charge for my credit card. "Can I get 10 Kettle Chips for my 3% charge?" The 16yr old hostess laughed and didn't understand what I was asking. Then another hostess came by, and asked how everything was, and I said "Great, except I don't know what I have to do for 10 more potato chips, I'm going to post a review," and she laughed ignorantly and said "Ha, OK." I said "you think for a $90 Merch purchase I could get 10 potato chips." And they said "Do you want a bag?" And I said "No, that bag would've covered my 3% Credit Card Fee," and again ignorantly, one of the 17yr olds said "the bag is free" (doesn't understand 🙄🙄🙄🙄), 📝So... MORAL OF THE STORY is: go for a decent view, decent brews, but don't expect customer appreciation or any above-and-beyond (which unfortunately I think is the state of the U.S. Service industry), take it at face value and DON'T ASK FOR ANY EXTRA CHIPS 😜 DOWNGRADING TO 2-STARS BASED ON THEIR RESPONSE "I'm not sure how familiar you are with the restaurant industry 🙄🙄" Try 30yrs experience - Customer Service doesn't = Condescending, and you're right there are many other establishments to eat at, yours will no longer be one of them, and I will not longer recommend you or bring NUMEROUS guests to your...
Read moreUse to come here 2-4 times a week. About two years ago the service and quality of food started to decline. I now go once every month or two. However, I’m not going anymore nor will recommend it to anybody.
On my last visit there were two other tables with people, so not busy. I was sat at a dirty table (mind you this is during COVID). I asked for it to be cleaned but it never happened. I asked for a high chair for my 8 month old, however after 15 minutes I had to go into the back and grab one myself. Though two of us were eating we were given only one set of flatware. The flatware we did get was dirty and nobody was around to replace it or get us an additional set.
During our meal the same football game was on every TV, which there are six throughout the restaurant. When I asked the waitress for any one of the TV’s to be switched to a different game, I was told the other tables (remember there were only two tables and six TV’s) were watching the game. I asked the other two tables if they would mind if one of the six TV’s could be switched, both tables stated they weren’t watching TV. When told the staff member what the other tables said and to please switch one of the TV’s, I was told “the other tables were there first so it wasn’t going to happen.”
In short, this place use to be great however has seriously gone downhill. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else in Bigfork, Somers, Woods Bay or Lakeside to eat &/or get a drink.
UPDATED REVIEW: Tried giving it another shot and was disappointed once again. Waited at the table for 20 minutes without any staff stopping by to take drink or food order. Waitresses did walk by and look straight at us but never said a word. When I inquired with the bartender I was told “someone will get there soon” but she never brought it up with any wait staff. We just left. In short, in 5-6 months this is still a bad choice. Go to Tamarac, Bias, Kalispell Brewery (they have food trucks) or any other brewery...
Read moreAs far as brewery restaurants go, this one was just ok. We visit lots in our travels, always choosing a brewery restaurant over other restaurants in towns as we travel. We have visited both the restaurant facility as well as the former smaller taproom location in Woods Bay. I would visit the smaller location again in a heartbeat.....unfortunately it has closed. The restaurant I do not have as much desire to return. The location is nice, with a very small dining deck overlooking the lake (from a distance). The parking area is large, and although some complain that it is a gravel lot, that doesn't bother us. The ambiance is nice, very welcoming interior. We visited around 3pm on a Monday , so a slightly off time, the deck was busy, but the rest of the restaurant was quite empty. Beers were good. We had the Wild Mile Wheat and the Painted Rock Porter at the restaurant. The menu was a little small for a full scale restaurant. We ordered a soft pretzel to start and it was amazingly good - especially for only $5. Next we ordered a Pulled Pork sandwich and a Club sandwich with Avocado. The food was good, but the Club sandwich was $16...... I think that is a little steep for a sandwich...... even with a view. Service was really good though. We struggled to make a selection on our food choices because the selection was small and the prices seemed steep.... but the waitress was extremely patient and kept checking on us. Overall impression is that the small charm and quality of the small brewpub didn't carry over when this brewery went large scale. If you are hungry stop.... but overall I will miss the Woods Bay...
