I've yet to go in lately and have a good experience. Was there today because I happened to buy an Electro Harmonix mono bass synth pedal new, online.....plugged it in and hated it! So I figured I would sell it or trade it for something I could use.
The store rep was nice enough but when he told me they would research how much USED versions are selling for, then give me 60% of THAT price I literally laughed out loud.
60% of the going USED price for a brand new pedal used less than an hour? Needless to say, the pedal came back home with me. You would have to either be desperate or stupid to sell a new pedal for 60% of what used versions are selling for.
Secondly, what they do carry is seriously over priced. Talk about ripping off the consumer. In the last 4 years, I've yet to go in and buy anything more than a cable or some picks because of their pricing ad to it, they never have in stock what I am looking for. Shop local music stores if you want to pay a marked up price... at least then you are supporting a local business... or buy online and save some bucks.
I'll probably just ship it back to the sellar, eat the shipping cost and call it a minor loss... better than the deal Guitar Center...
   Read moreI made the mistake of ordering something that was on their website that said that it was in stock. It was not. A week later I made a call and it's all back ordered. But they tell me that I shouldn't cancel my order because they just received 45 units to send out at their Kansas City main location and mine will be sent out at the end of the week. Three days after the end of that week - still no email and I call again - a different person on the phone. Nope, there were no 45 units and the next shipment won't come in until March... At least he was honest - not like the other guy. But massive attitude..."not to my knowledge...etc." The local Guitar Center store in my state (CT) picks up the phone and just hangs up. Beautiful.
I cancelled the order. I picked up the phone and got it from a more localized music store in Maryland with better service. I will receive it in two days. Call the people you are doing business with and talk to them about your music needs and choose who you want to buy your equipment from. Call these people first and you will see...
   Read moreI am not sure what kind of scam this store is trying to pull on me but this is my experience with them. I ordered a guitar from the store on Friday, September 1, 2017. On the following Monday, they print a label for the guitar but never ship anything with that label. I call the store 2 days later to find out what is happening and they said that they shipped my guitar under a different shipping label, not the one that they printed for it.
The next day, I track the new shipping label to the Guitar Center in Towson, MD and they claim that there was no guitar, there was a package but not with my guitar or case.
The original shipping label says it is waiting for pickup. The secondary shipping label was received but supposedly wasn't a guitar. I am out over $600 because no one wants to refund my money.
