I bought a "New" Nintendo Switch. Got it home and both the HDMI cord and the Power cord are both missing. Apparently it was the display model. Which is fine, whatever. I don't mind but some people would and they didn't tell us. But...seriously? I just paid 300$ for an incomplete machine advertised as new. New things are complete and untouched. If I wanted a used or incomplete one I could have found it on Craigslist for a hundred less. So we call up there...hold for 10 minutes (while, I assume, they're looking for them) and they don't find them. So they offered us to go back there (a 30 minute drive. Bleh.) and pick up a used power cord and a used HDMI cord. And 10-15$ store credit. Like I'm going to use that. I would've just returned the whole damn thing and said F it but nowhere else in the Metro had a Switch and it's my birthday present.
I have a few questions... A) How did this happen? B) Why did nobody that worked there check the box before taking 300$ from someone? C) How did it even get lost in the first place? If it's a display model why would the cords need to leave the box?? Those don't need to be displayed?
Whatever. I know stuff happens, but a cautionary tale. Check your stuff before you walk out of there. And make sure you ask if something has been the floor model because apparently it's not seen as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am grateful for them taking many of our DVD movies. I am a bit disappointed that we only got $29 for over a hundred movies that are Blu-ray regular DVD and above and beyond. Many of them are classics lots of kids movies to include veggie tales. The choice was donating to some sort of non-profit donation location or getting a little bit of money as we try to move and purge. I had called first to ask about bringing minute movies, was told we would receive a few cents up to about $10. 00 depending upon condition of the movies, etc. I would have thought with around 100 movies we might have gotten a little more than $29.00. Better than nothing, I guess. Also... Bought a previously used Call of Duty PS 4 game for $29. & Change for our younger son. They did not even have a proper case, & it was pretty scratched up; our PS4 & the PS5 with school system for which he wanted to use and share with friends for eSports would not even read the disc. Vintage offered to resurface the disc, but despite the 30 day back refund (I called them back the next day after we learned the not so good condition of this disc) seemed to have great difficulty figuring out & actually being okay with a full refund. Unlikely we will do much business with Vintage...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly, Terrible. I walked in at 6:15 pm when they close at 7PM. I had gathered maybe 7-8 things I was wanted to sell to them (a mixture of blue rays and ps3 games). I was greeted at the door and asked if I needed help and asked him what the could do for these items. He immediately sighed loudly then said āone secondā then walked away. Maybe 5 minutes goes by then he comes back and says āyouāre gonna have to come back tomorrow, we have a policy that we canāt do trades this close to closing the storeā. It wasnāt even the fact he asked me to come back the next day. It was the audible sigh and way he went about it. Even if there is a policy why wouldnāt he tell me that at the beginning? He waited after he was clearly unhappy I was in there before saying anything about it. After 20+ years of trading, buying, and selling there Iāve never felt compelled to leave a review until now. Didnāt realize I had to show up 2-3 hours before closing to use one of your stores main core functions of revenue. PS it was the tall...
