H-E-B — Local services in Katy

I will remain a loyal customer and am overjoyed with today’s outcome! On Christmas Eve I came to this store to purchase 2 gift cards. Due to the amount I wanted to purchase I was only able to obtain 1 gift card, however, that accidentally was not the card I was given. I did not realize in all the commotion of asking if I wanted a different amount on 2 cards versus the one that the cashier continued to hold on to the 1 card she had activated but put the un activated card in the bag. Well much to my surprise and embarrassment the person that said gift was given to called last night and said their card wouldn’t work. What, no way. I have the receipt for that and can provide proof that the card was purchased. Well I located the receipt and got the card back from the person we gave it to.... to find out the card activated was NOT the card given. My heart sunk and instantly I wanted to puke. So off to H-E-B I went. I immediately asked for a manager and Gary came to help. I was crying... this was a significant amount of money we were taking about. He took down my name and number, copied my receipt and said he would be back in touch with me, probably tomorrow. About 2 hours later I received a call from a number not programmed in my phone and decided to answer it. Much to my surprise it was the manager Gary. He said that the gift card company was no help in verifying if the balance had been used, however, they watched the video of the cashier and they saw her hand me the wrong card. He admitted that he thought H-E-B would have to issue me the amount purchased but before doing that he wanted to see if the card was still in the store??? Y’all he went to the gift card kiosk and went through all the gift cards only knowing the last 5 digits of the one that was activated. He found it!!!! He was calling me to tell me he had found the gift card I had purchased but not received! I’ve loved H-E-B for some time. They are my go to store. They are around the corner from my house and from my business and I was devastated thinking I wouldn’t be able to shop there again if this wasn’t made right. Well I’m here to tell you they handled it TOP NOTCH!!! They under promised and over delivered and were compassionate and helpful every step of the way! This has been my H-E-B since they opened and I have no plans of changing! Thanks manager Gary for going above and beyond and being so incredibly kind!...

I shop at this store every Sunday morning. I guess that isnt a good time for the store. The milk is never restocked and I have to ask someone to get the milk from the back. When I go to get the heb organic air chilled chicken tenders they are not there or they are trying to push the old ones out with the 25% off sticker on them and I have to ask to get new ones. Then the produce is not the greatest. The strawberries and the heb green beans in a bag are never fresh even though the expiration dates are good. I will say this, I shop there because I like heb but this store is not on top of their game if I had time to drive to heb in cinco ranch I would because that store is on top of their game. Please, HEB , read this and do something about stocking fresh items and making sure the items are out by the time the customers come in to shop. I get there around 8 am to shop and it would seem like everything would be ready by then but it isnt and all the HEB staff is running around trying to stock the shelves and pushing around pallet jacks nearly missing customers, not cool. Well since I couldn't figure out how to write another review I added this part today May 6 2019. I went to store today at 6:15 am to get a cookie cake for my daughter to take to school for her birthday. I thought it would be an in and out type deal but it wasnt. Getting the cake, card, and napkins was quick. I got to the only line that was open and had at least 4 people in front of me that all worked at HEB. Then another worker got behind me and a manager made them cut in front of me. Come on HEB if your workers need something have a designated lane for them not to hold customers up. Really disappointed once again. The cashier was so flustered by all the employees that when I was paying she just grabbed my cash off the counter and I wasn't even finished getting the total out of my wallet to give her.
