Staff was professional and courteous although not everyone was as attentive as others. In particular, Kafi in the Starbucks / restaurant area went well above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Another person in the same area appeared to possibly be flirting with travelers (I couldn't tell because it wasn't my language) while I waited in line behind them. Not that I have a big issue with that but she could have served me first and then went back to talking to the guests.
The room was slightly larger than typical, especially for a Courtyard and appeared to be either built or renovated recently as it was fresh, clean and didn't show signs of wear. The room air conditioner was sufficient and did not run continuously but the halls could have been a little cooler, although it was in the 90s outside. The mini-fridge kept items chilled appropriately. All bathroom / shower features functioned adequately. Ergonomically speaking, one of the bathroom tissue rolls was mounted slightly further back than would be typical so it felt a little awkward reaching for it but it was certainly still easily accessible.
The elevator was a bit slow but typical for a hydraulic unit. The TV on the treadmill was sporadic although there was a wall-mounted unit behind you while on the exercise equipment - not very conducive for watching while on a treadmill. Stairs were easily found on one end of the property but it wasn't obvious where or if there were stairs on the other end by the laundry.
Twice we posted the "green" card on the door overnight to not have the room serviced but both times it was. I'm not sure if we got the 250 points anyway but that's much better than if we desired service that we didn't get.
The hotel was centrally located but was a little tricky to get to the property due to the layout of the Katy Mills mall. The first approach had a permanent barrier in the way so we circled to the back side of the mall to approach from a different direction. We subsequently entered from a different approach.
Overall it was an above average to excellent experience. [Platinum...
Read moreI travel to this area pretty often for work, and when I do, this place is my go-to. The AC? Arctic-level. Perfect for curling up in bed like a burrito without sweating like one. The showers? They don’t play around—no sad, lukewarm drizzle pretending to be “relaxing.” Nope. These bad boys bring the heat like they’re trying to melt away your sins and your stress. Honestly, I’ve had less intense therapy sessions. And the guest service? It deserves its own award.
Case in point: I popped downstairs one morning, pre-meeting, in desperate search of caffeine (you know, survival mode). Turns out the Starbucks wasn't open—tragic. But before I could even mourn the loss of my usual fix, Precious at the front desk swooped in like a caffeinated angel.
Without missing a beat, she offered to make me an Americano—the one coffee she says she really knows how to make. Lucky for me, that happens to be my go-to. She even asked if I wanted milk and what my milk preference was. AND she had dairy-free options ready to go, which is a win for my lactose-fearing stomach. Now, I know an Americano purist might say it doesn’t need milk—but let’s be honest, a splash of oat milk makes the whole experience feel less like a corporate hustle and more like a warm, caffeinated hug. And Precious delivered exactly that.
The coffee? Delicious. The interaction? Even better. And just when I thought she couldn’t be more awesome, she handed me a water post-payment like some kind of hospitality superhero.
Precious, that elevator ride was worth every floor. THANK YOU! You make a mean Americano and an even better...
Read moreI travel for work quite often, and usually get booked in a Marriott which is how I was able to pay with points for this stay. During our first nights stay, I got under the bed sheets, ready for bed. Then I feel a sharp pain on my thigh. I uncover myself to find a scorpion just stung me. My 15 month old daughter was already asleep in the same bed!! How’s is there a scorpion UNDER the bed sheets. Of course I go to the reception desk to let them know if the situation, No question was asked about my well being and that of my daughters. The only thing offered was a new room and bed sheets. The following day I go to the receptionist again to find that the night receptionist didn’t fill any reports or notes of the incident. I asked to speak to a manager, but he was not going to be in until later that afternoon and I was already going to be on the road home. The receptionist said she will leave my contact information for the manager to contact me once he was in, it’s almost been 5 days since the incident and not a single phone call or email from the hotel! I was never disrespectful to either receptionist and never did I raise my voice. I finally have some time off to spend it with family to have this unpleasant experience. If that’s how I am going to get treated from now on, i will make sure my team and myself book hotels somewhere else. The least you all can do is refund my points for both rooms, and yes I’m asking for both rooms because the other room had a large lizard which was never found once it ran away. I will definitely call the corporate offices in the...
