My family has been living in Katy for two years but had yet to find a good barber. My grandson is two and every barber can not cut small kids. You have to have a certain soft touch. I hopped on the internet to look up kid barber shops. Houston 55 popped up, so I began reading the reviews. I was excited to try it out. We called to find out that they welcomed walk ins, and that they were near by so we headed right there.

When we walked in, Millennial greeted us promptly and welcomed us to the shop. They were busy, but he assured us that we would be taken care of quickly. KC became free and offered to assist us. We were there for my two year old grandson, Ayden, and my adult son. Ayden had a hair cut once, here in Katy, but the barber did not do a good job and just didn’t have that children touch. Therefore, whenever he and his mother flew back to Milwaukee, I would take him to my barber. He cries and fights every time so usually I have him sit in my lap to hold him. Millennial suggested that we allow him to sit alone so he gets used to being independent.

Poor KC was trying his hardest to fade him. Ayden was crying and fighting so the other barbers in the shop came over to cheer him up. The one tall brother came over with a box of candy and tried to amuse him with it. They were all so understanding and helpful during Ayden’s melt down.

KC was able to get the fade done, but was not able to get the lining because Ayden was done with him touching him at this point. I sat down to hold him so he could slope his top, Alex came over to try to assist so he could line his neck, but he was not having it and kept fighting. I decided to stop the madness and let Ayden get down.

Alex kept talking to him and decided to try to give him a lining while he was standing without being restrained. That was it! I was SOLD! She had the softest touch, and a soft soothing voice which won him over. She finessed him so well that he allowed her to work through getting his lining done. She sat on the floor with him. Walked around with him. Took him to the couch. I’m telling y’all, Alex was AMAZING with the already distraught two year old. She was soooo good working with him that I had to record it. I had already paid for both haircuts and also gave KC a tip for his battle. Lol After Alex worked with Ayden for a good 15 minutes getting his lining done, I tried to slide her a tip. She was not having it. I even tried again, and she waved me off.

That was the cherry on top of everything else that had gone on while we were there. All of the barbers were amazing! Alex sealed the barber/client relationship! She has a client in Ayden until he graduates high school and leaves for college. Lol! The lining was crisp even though they moved around from the floor to the couch getting it done.

That’s the soft touch that we have been searching for in a barber! To top this review off, my son has long locks and is extremely picky about who lines him up. KC gave him one of the best taper and linings he has had in years!

To the owner… Your staff is amazing! My wife and I will be moving here from Milwaukee, WI within the next 2 years. I will not need to search for a shop because I have found it!
