Exceptional! We had a wonderful week staying at Hale Hanalei in May 2022. The house was impeccably clean, tidy and stocked with beach supplies. We enjoyed the AC on the top floor but taking advice from the home owners, we managed the AC respectfully and turned it off when doors/windows were open. The outside sitting/dining areas where full of comfy, teak furniture and perfect for early mornings, lunches and dinners on the deck. Despite the desire to sit at the beautiful natural-edged indoor dining table, we sat outside everyday for long evening dinners with friends. Regardless of the weather (many rainy days that week) this house made the stay perfect. The kitchen made us feel right at home - dishes/platters for serving, bowls for mixing, nice wine glasses (that’s important!), and an ice maker for chilling the tropical drinks.

The main floor has two master bedrooms with private bathrooms - this was great for the older-adults in the house. You can see the mountains from each window on the main floor. The first floor has three bedrooms with two full bathrooms - this was great for the younger-adults on the trip. Although it was warm on the 1st floor at times, the bedroom fans made nighttime sleeping just fine. With a hot tub off the 1st floor patio, this was a lovely escape for a quick soak at the end of the day. There is a full stock of towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards, and an outdoor shower for getting sand or mud off before entering the home. Great idea and much needed! The washer/dryer helped to freshen up beach towels quickly at the end of the day, and enabled us to help out the staff by doing loads of bath towels on the last day. A mid-week house cleaning was a pleasant surprise and maholo!

This house is amazing for a beach destination. Just a walk from the beach on one side and a walk from Hanalei town and stores on the other. Eventough the house is tucked among other rental homes, we never felt crowded. This was our second house rental along the north shore of Kauai. What stood out to us and puts Hale Hanalei miles above the other: cleanliness, fine furnishings and kithen amenities, and location.

Kevin, the property manager, was great to deal with and met us upon arrival. All instructions were very clear and he was available at any time for any help at all during our week. He took care of the weekly garbage/recycling schedule which was much appreciated. Great spot everyone! This is what we expect when we rent a property and you...

Nice open floor plan, floor to ceiling windows to take advantage of the views, master bedroom super comfortable bed!

To be fair to the property manager they did what they could to fix some of the stuff I've mentioned above, while we were there. I've taken pictures of all the deficiencies and sent them to the property manager.

We've stayed in allot of vacation properties over the years and for the money charged for this unit it is a complete rip off, if you look at the pictures on VRBO it looked great but as far as I'm concerned is was a bait and switch, what you see was NOT what you got. We were VERY disappointed in this unit the owners of this property should be extremely embarrassed at not...

We rented this house for 4 couples for 3 weeks. The layout of the house with 4 en-suite bedrooms, pool, location and view were terrific. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen, the outdoor space and wonderful sunsets. Our 1st problem was that the kitchen had no oven. The property manager provided a countertop oven which filled our needs. The second and more pressing problem was with the A/C. Almost immediately, there was water on the floor in one of the bedrooms and 2 of the 4 bedrooms heated up during the day and never fully cooled down at night. We notified the property manager of these problems and after assuring her that we were not leaving outside doors open or playing with the thermostats she sent an “A/C guy” who, as it turned out, was a plumber. He looked at the water and did nothing about that or the A/C. As it turns out, the owner who lives in Ohio had control over the thermostats and lowered them with little effect. Four days later, more water on the floor and another futile visit from the plumber. After a week of texts to the property manager and warm nights for the occupant of the 2 bedrooms the owner agreed to send a real A/C tech. So 10 days after our first complaint the A/C guy arrived, added coolant to the system and said the house is hard to cool because of high, uninsulated ceilings. Based on an inexpert opinion, the house is long overdue for a new A/C system. The property manager sent us texts saying “sorry you are unhappy with the solutions the owner has provided” when in fact after initially blaming us for the problem there were no solutions. We should not have had to spend so much of our vacation dealing with and worrying about issues that are the responsibility of...

Just stayed in Maui in Sugar Beach 502 for 1 week. Have previously used Hawaii Life to rent a house in Kauai which was immaculate. This unit is a dump!! Spend a little more money or use a different agency and stay somewhere else. The location is horrible. It is an end unit near the highway and all you can hear is road noise unless you are awake at 2 or 3am. Bedroom carpet was filthy and shutters broken. Mattress and pillows very uncomfortable. Throw rug in living room was also dirty as well as the windows and sofa. Smelled so bad, threw a blanket over it to use. The kitchen floor was also filthy. The unit itself and lanai were not spacious. Lanai furniture was weathered and splintery. When taking a shower with half glass enclosure, water went all over floor leaving a mess to clean up. Tried to get help on the weekend with cable issues. Randy was not helpful. Called during the week and was taken care of. Reached unit 20 minutes before Check in and was told to wait. I have pictures if site will allow to post. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE AND USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY!!

These are pictures from our stay in Kihei the end of March. Amazing sunsets, sea turtles in bay right outside our patio. Perfect swim/beach for small children. The condo was beautiful. New, white, very clean. Lots of natural light. 3 bedrooms and two baths, with a very nice and quiet washer/dryer. We thought the location was perfect for about anything. We had shave ice, farmers market with amazing fruit samples, tons of stores and restaurants, close to everything! We did not do Road to Hana but the trip to Mt. Helakala for sunset was only about 1 hour. (This was our favorite place! Amazing!) we were within 0-10 minutes from the best beaches. Snorkeled at many of them and saw about 10 different fish. We were lucky enough to watch a sea turtle swimming under water! We saw whales in the distance straight from our patio (look for spouting water) and turtles in our bay (it may be the time of year).

This is our second time staying at Kihei Akahi. We love Kihei. The slow pace is perfect for us and we really enjoy the beaches. Kihei Akahi is a very nice condo complex. The grounds are well kept. It was our second time in D building. This time on the 6th floor. Really can't beat the views from the lanai. The condo had everything we needed to feel at home. We cooked most of our meals but for those times when we didn't feel like cooking, it was a short walk to the restaurants. While it did have most amenities, it was a tad tired and could use some sprucing up (paint, new bedding, new curtains). The front door was very loose when closed with only the handle locked and it felt like it could easily be pushed open if the deadbolt wasn't locked too. Check in/out was easy. Emailed instructions were very clear. All-in-all a great place to stay. Can't wait to return next year. Tammie Quebec, Canada
