Kaukauna Veterinary Clinic is the only place I trust for my pet's healthcare needs. Growing up, my parents always took our pets there, and since becoming a pet owner myself in 2000, I have done the same. I can't even count how many times I feel that we've gotten superior pet care. In my opinion, the Vets there are just shy of miracle workers! In about 2008, my cat, Rocky, was so sick with kidney issues that I thought we'd have to put him down. I cried all day preparing for such an event...but Dr. Biese wanted to give it the weekend to see if he'd improve. He wanted to keep him on fluids but knew it would be too expensive for me to "hospitalize him" all weekend, so on Friday night Rocky got fluids, and on Saturday morning when the clinic was open, he got more fluids, which was enough to carry him through to Monday morning. By the start of the next week he was doing much better. Rocky is still here with us today; he just eats a special diet to keep his kidneys in check. To think I had given up and left him for dead, but Dr. Biese saved him for me! I am still grateful to him for that day. Our dog, Mercury, had knee surgery. We could've had the surgery done at the Referral Center, but I trusted Dr. Biese. After months of making sure Mercury was walked on a leash so as not to reinjure himself, he healed up quite nicely. Mercury did end up getting cancer in his mouth last year and we had to put him down. That was an awful day. We walked out of the clinic without even paying because we were so grief stricken. The clinic was great. We contacted them the next day and apologized for just walking out. They completely understood. They sent us Merc's ashes with a lovely note and his paw prints in ink. His picture was hung on their remembrance wall for an entire year. Every time I walked into the clinic, my faithful friend's smiling face was there to greet me. They really care about their animal patients, and the pet's "mom and dad" as well! Our dog Cecil had a scratch on his eye. Dr. Biese did a "cross hatching" surgery and healed him. Nearly 2 year's later at a regular exam Dr. Biese noticed Cecil's eye-sight wasn't very good. It was not related to his previous eye troubles. He referred us to an opthamologist who told us Cecil would most likely be blind in 6 months. Thanks to Dr. Biese catching that on a regular exam I was able to learn all I could about how to care for a blind dog. Cecil can still see pretty well, and we are keeping him comfortable. On top of these 3 memorable visits, we are in for regular check-ups, teeth cleanings, vaccinations, etc. for our pets on a regular basis. What does all this say about Kaukauna Vet Clinic? If you love your pets as much as I love mine (and I'm sure you do if you're researching veterinary clinics online!) do what's best for them and take them to Dr. Biese, or to one of the other wonderfully qualified Veterinarians on staff at the clinic. Everyone there is wonderful. Everytime I walk in I am greeted by all the ladies at the front desk - who know me by my first name. They take the time to pet my animals and say hello to them, as if each one of them is as special to them as they are to me. The entire staff is friendly, they take the time to explain things, they listen to my sometimes neurotic questions, they assist me with whatever products I need to purchase...it is a wonderful experience every time I go there...even when walking through the doors is for something heartbreaking like saying goodbye to Merc for the last time, I felt like I was saying goodbye to him among friends, and I didn't feel alone. I would recommend (and I have) Kaukauna Vet Clinic to anyone who...
Read moreVery disappointed. Have been going here for 10 years and never had an issue until recently. Our dog is older and has been having trouble with pain and stiffness and so we took him to the vet to see what we could give him to help him with this issue. They gave us some medicine and it was very expensive from the clinic. I decided to check on line to see if I could find the medicine at a more reasonable price. I was able to find that. The difference in price was not just a few dollars but was almost $20 difference. Very substantial difference for a med that will be given every day, like a vitamin. I understood this med was by prescription. I called the clinic and asked for the prescription and a form that needed to be filled out. This is where the trouble started. They filled out the form but not completely and gave me a script. I asked if they would please fax this info to a fax number I had for the company. They refused. Let me say if the difference had been a few dollars I would not have even done this. My husband and I are retired, on a fixed income and just could not afford what they were charging for this med. We were also on a time frame because we were doing a loading dose of 2 a day for a month and then down to one a day. If we mailed the info and then waited for the meds to be shipped we would not have gotten them in time to go to the one a day. There would have been break in the giving of the med. Now we have been going here for 10 years and while we were satisfied with his care we spent a whole lot of money over those years. This was the very first time we have asked anything of them. Yes I checked to see where I could take this to get faxed but those companies were charging a lot for one fax. I have worked for companies where I have had to fax information, it takes very little time to do and the cost to them is not that much. Basically it was not their policy to do this. Why? Because instead of buying their expensive med I was going to get the med another place that was substantially cheaper. I asked after all the business I had done there over 10 years if they could not just fax two pieces of paper. Again they refused. I was upset with the whole thing by then and said fine, I will take my business other places. Which I am going to do. Pretty poor customer service as far as I am concerned. Over 10 years I bought all my dogs meds from them and never questioned the price until this med for my dogs joints. This was one favor over 10 years and it was refused. I have no doubt what I will hear back from them telling me about their policy and it could get out of hand if they make an exception for one etc. However I do not really care, my request was not unreasonable as far as I am concerned not after being with them for 10 years. I am sure they are busy enough and my business will not be missed but I will know that I took my business to...
Read moreVery disappointed. Poor management and rude receptionist. Do not recommend if you're seeking quality care. My wife and I had been taking our two dogs here for a little under two years. We had an appointment set up for our one dog and needed to bring the second dog in as well because he could not stay home by himself because of his anxiety. We inquired about having our second dog get his ear looked at because we knew he had an infection. The receptionist very rudely and snippy said they couldn't do both because they are too busy. They offered to give a medication to help the ear over the phone and I denied that because how do they know specifically what is wrong with the ear without a vet tech examining it. Brought both dogs in and the one had her exam. I showed the vet the medicine I currently was using for our male's ear issue and he offered to look at his ear even though I didn't ask him to. He looked at his ear for three minutes. The vet prescribed a medication for his ear and we went to pay. They then charged us, without informing us, an additional $93 for the 3 minutes of looking at our male's ear. When we inquired about the reasoning we got the run around with the rude receptionist and said we need to talk with the manager. Once we were able to talk with the manager, she had already made her mind up and didn't truly listen to what we were trying to explain and figure out about the extra charge. We would have been much more understanding of the charge but they snuck that charge on the bill and did not inform us at all of it being on there. We decided this place is not suitable for true care of animals but rather it's more of a business model to get the animals in and out. Very disappointed in how poorly managed as well as the allowance of rude communications from the receptionist both on the phone and in person and we'll take our business somewhere else. Do not recommend if you're seeking...
