As a company I really dislike hobby lobby and their practices. They are a religious company and while there is nothing initaly wrong with this it can be an issue when they do unethical things in name of their religion. This company has been known to fire women who are pregnant out of wedlock, people who have tattoos/piercings, are members of the LGBT community and other reasons that do not relate to an employees work ethic or performance. If I had a choice I would not support the company at all, but this is one of the only place near Kearney that has sewing, crafting, and other such materials meaning it is a nessacary evil. Now on to this store location in particular. The store is always clean, well lit, and the staff that you can find seem nice. The store layout is a little odd as sometimes things will not be where you would expect them to be. As employees are hard to find this can often lead to one wondering the store for several minutes lost and confused. The fabric section while better than nothing tends to be filled by ugly fabrics that never seem to move as they are so specific that very few people want them. (I'm looking at you all the football team fleeces, from teams that are not popular in the area). The sewing area often does not have simple things that are nessacary when doing the majority of sewing and you might have to try different stores for things as simple as a French curve or tracing paper. There are many other sections of the store but as the sewing and needle crafts are my area of interest that is what I know the most about. I will admit the selection of yarns are great and the fact they have tatting supplies is fantastic. Over all this store itself is nice but it's run by a...
Read moreVery happy with my purchases, I always enjoy a good Hobby Lobby trip. However, I was very displeased with my shopping experience yesterday. It was inventory, and I know this is a must so I was okay with shopping around the many extra people etc. However, as the inventory workers completed a section they turned items backwards, wall hangings etc weren't able to be seen. Pretty inconvenient for shoppers as is, but during a 50% off Wall Decor Sale? Extremely inconvenient. I almost left out of frustration a couple times but I drove an hour to get to that sale.. In short I love Hobby Lobby and have always adored the things I have in my home and now I have 13 new items to add!.. But I would suggest a possible rain check on the sale if Inventory is going to make it nearly impossible to shop...
Read moreFebruary 2019. I would like to commend the young lady who helped me with a frame and matting project recently. Her name was SaraLisa at the Kearney, NE Hobby Lobby Art and Frame Department. She was very knowledgeable and had excellent taste at helping with the Matting, and Framing of my large art poster. It took considerable time and thought to put it altogether. She was so patient with me, her suggestions so helpful, and I want her managers to know what an excellent job she did on my project. SaraLisa, you are talented and so very helpful and patient! Thank you for all your thought, artistic advice and help in putting my picture into a real art piece! Thank you so...
