The positives: Typically the best authentic Mexican food to be found in Kearney. Good portion sizes and value. They have a wide variety of dishes to chose from. I've never had a bad experience with service although servers can be in a hurry when attending to lots of guests. Understandable. Chips and fresh salsa is served with all meals.
I've eaten at most Mexican restaurants in town. It's pretty hard to compete with the taste and quality here.
The bad or what could be improved: This isn't a place to go for quiet dining. It can be quite loud during busy times. The music is pretty high and patrons talk loud to each other attempting to speak over it. One shouldn't have to raise one's voice loudly at their waiter or waitress to communicate. I like to be able to visit. It's not always this way. If you prefer a quieter time, I'd suggest after lunch mid to late afternoon, weekdays during the day when there's less a crowd or, consider another option.
We've experienced some consistency issues with meals served here. One of my favorites is the Jalisco. It can be excellent then on occasion quite different. The make up of it, portion size and appearance. I'd attribute it to busiest times when it can get hastily prepared and who's in the kitchen preparing it.
They've recently remodeled. Other than the volume of the music, it's a decent atmosphere. Clean, a bit congested. They've outgrown the location over the years and, the parking isn't particularly good. Patrons can park across the street.
There are a couple good alternatives in town with larger dining areas and better parking although, in general, the food quality and value isn't comparable to that of San Pedro.

Read moreGenerally this has been a good place to eat but this last visit left a bit of a bad taste. My cousin wanted to let them know that her visit prior to this one was not a good experience. Our waiter rudely responded "OK, and.....?" She simply wanted to let them know it was not a good experiencethinking they'd care about the food and service.
We ordered and he brought out some chips and salsa. The chips were rancid and reeked of oil gone bad. Some were darker and those were the worst ones. Unfortunately, he told us they'd all taste the same because they were mixed in with the old chips. 😒 So we could eat them as is or not at all. We ordered a meal to split because we aren't big eaters and he rolled his eyes at us! Lol. Even still I generally tip extremely well but this time I only tipped the customary amount for his extreme rudeness.
It's like they quit caring about the food that comes out of the kitchen and service. I understand times are hard lately keeping enough staff but...
Read moreAs far as the food goes, my daughter loves this place so I'm glad she enjoys it, however it was very disappointing for me. The food was very bland and flavorless (and who would have thought that mushrooms would have been an ingredient in my dish?) I hate Taco Bell because seriously I think their hamburger meat seems like it would taste like can cat food? And with that being said if I think Taco Bell tasted better that should tell you what I really think of their food here. Either way when I got the total of our meals my first thought was kudos to them for charging the prices they do for the food they serve and get away with it (or returning customers). I personally would never eat here again. As far as service goes, we only saw the waiter when he finally came around to take our order and to bring our food. I waited so long for our ticket I finally went up to the front to pay so we could leave. I don't recommend eating here, however my daughter likes the food, so you may enjoy...
