Sierra — Local services in Keene

I've been shopping here for about 30 years, since it was just a mail-order catalog called Sierra Trading Post, long before they got bought by TJX and started opening stores. What you will find there: Great bargains on good-quality outdoor gear, both clothing and stuff like camping equipment. Lots and lots of shoes and boots. Also some housewares, pet stuff, and don't visit hungry because there is a huge snack food area where you wait at the registers.

And you will wait at the registers, because what you won't find is incredible service. It's friendly and competent enough, there just isn't much of it. But that's OK - you're here for bargains, not the service.

If the idea of having a ski jacket in 'last year's color' horrifies you, better shop elsewhere. If you have more brains than money, shop at Sierra. Pro Tip: I shop online (the web site is great), ordering multiple sizes to make sure I get something that fits, then return the unwanted stuff to the store. Fast, easy, no return...
