Ok, I started to write a shorter review then started reading some of the reviews here and realized I can expand a bit. The price and value that you get from Physiq in general is amazing.
The staff regardless of who is at the front desk is friendly and attentive. Have had great experiences with the Young redhead woman that works in the evening and the Hispanic gentleman that is there in the afternoons.(Sorry I am so bad with names) but have never had a bad or unhelpful experience at all. I see the staff regularly wiping down equipment, mopping, dusting weights, and engaging with customers. Rarely do I see them idle, and have never seen them ignore people waiting at the counter.
The gym is big, has a ton, of equipment and is generally clean. The equipment if out of order, is rarely out of order for long, and they reupholstered all of the older machines when they installed the new this last year. They do play music throughout the day at a reasonable volume, but I usually listen to a book or podcast on my earbuds anyway.
My wife and I have been coming to this gym for a couple of years now and have seen it go through some changes.
In the past year they added a belt squat (I requested one a year ago and they said they werenāt planning on it, but they listened to my feedback!) several in-motion machines, dumbbells up to 115 and two pairs of every dumbbell up to (I think) 70lbs. Including having in between sizes like 22.5lbs and 27.5lbs. Which my wife really appreciates. Plus more in the turf covered functional fitness area.
Tons of cardio equipment, in the back of the gym, and even more in a small theater room where they keep the lights off and a movie playing. Treadmills rowers, Ellipticals etc.
There are always squat racks available, probably like 3 maybe 8 If you count the ones on the turf that arenāt dedicated but still function as squat racks. I think like 5 or 6 places you can do deadlifts.
Things I would like to see as a regular member
I would love it if we could get the Macronutrient content for all smoothies posted visibly, or at least accessible.I would buy them way more often if I knew the protein, fat, and carb content.
It would be nice to add in regular sweeps to get weights back to a normal amount per machine, itās sucks walking from one end of the gym to the other to find a pair of 2.5s.
I would love a pendulum squat as well, not many gyms have it but they are awesome.
And an Atlantis strength lateral raise machine (I might be asking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have had a membership here at this Physiq Fitness now for about a week, and so far, I've really liked it here. The staff are incredibly friendly and the equipment is well-maintained and clean. Getting in a workout is easy and hassle free. Really it's everything that you'd hope for in a gym.
But the smoothie bar...
Oh God, the smoothie bar...
The smoothie bar here is, dare I say, amazing. They have a pretty extensive menu of options for people looking to drink a meal or for people just wanting a little something after some sweatin'. Truly there is a drink for everyone here. And they've also recently added a Build Your Own smoothie option so even if nothing on the menu looks quite right to you, you can have them build you your very own custom drink to your liking. Really, I would almost get a membership here just for the access to their smoothies. No lie. $10 a month is a bargain for the deliciousness they're putting out from behind that counter. I've now had three different drinks from here and all three of them were fantastic. Like "Go out and tell all of my friends" fantastic. Seriously. Don't believe me? Have them make up some samples and see for yourself. Their drinks make my stomach and taste buds as happy as much as their weights make my muscles happy. I'm not even sure if that's protein powder or chocolate flavored cocaine they're putting in them and honestly, I don't even care. Seriously, get a smoothie. Like right now. That...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's will be a long notes but I hope you're all read it. Especially all women at this gym. I've enrolled this GYM almost a year now and really disappointed for how they take care of members issues. I got my phone stolen in the restroom just in a minute or two when I stepped inside the toilet. Restroom was empty, all just by myself when I came in so I placed my phone and water bottle on the counter next to the toilet I used, soon later one person came in, yelled: "Are you done" I quickly came out saw my water bottle not in its originally spot and my phone was gone, washed my hand and ran to the front desk, staff couldn't do anything for me:( and told me to log on find my I phone to locate it. My son was with me so I used his phone to that and my stolen was turned off already, it was like within 5 minutes. I checked back at the gym next day and days later, talked to different staff and some one who I believed is on charge for this gym but none of them aware of the problem. I have stuff in my phone, my driver license and the gym card in the phone case. Really frustrated the way it happed, how easy the phone was stolen and can't do anything. How can the gym allow members like that. Yes, I my fault to leave the phone there, but still...
Many of us are going in the restroom and do same thing I've done, so I hope you guys read my notes and be aware of it, not leaving you phone, you cars keys on...
